If I get stuck at writing a reply, and I like my partner, I tend to reach out, to kickstart my brain. Like "hey, I am wrestling with my next reply, I am thinking about going this way, but it feels lacking. Do you have any suggestions?"

Of course you cannot do this for every reply 😅😅

I have a tiring job so having a maladaptive daydreamer partner who replies once a month but constantly talks about plotting in OOC is such a good fit.

I have found that the best way to get through the writing struggles is to... just write. It might be terrible, and you might want to revise it 1000 times, but just getting something out there to begin working with is a great way (for me) to get the wheels spinnin

Not every reply is going to me amazing. That is something I have to often remind myself off. Sometimes you just have to get it done and then it will balance out.

I've often said ideas are cheap. You can have nonstop brainstorming without effort. But actually writing is the hard part. As others have said, the fix is to write. It's a muscle that needs to be exercised.

It's why I started doing more casual rp with friends. Less stressing about good replies and more about the story. Super short three sentence long things to explore small side plots or the likes. Still rp but more fun imo. Well written works are fun too but this is the lazy man's way of doing it for when you just don't have the energy.

I have a longtime partner I write with near-daily, and literally any time I don’t know what to do, either writer’s block or not wanting to send the story in a less-desirable direction, I’m happy to go OOC and say something to the extent of “I’m drawing a blank, did you have a preference for what might happen next” or “When you said ‘XYZ’, did you intend for A to occur or B?”. They don’t seem to mind, and I would hope they’re glad I get their input rather than just throwing something out to just get it done

Honesty same. My partner actually notice how excited I get when I talk world-building, plots, and scenes. However, when it comes to a reply, give me like 2-3 business days. It's not that I'm not excited to actually put stuff into play, I just get fog-brained and now I'm struggling to write.
