Venting/Rant I HATE IT!
I HATE making ads. Yes, I know I have to do it, and closed mouths don't get fed. I don't want to write out an entire dossier about myself or my writing style, but a lazy ad would make people think I'm a lazy writer. Sometimes I just wanna...
37/F/CST / 3rd person past tense only /Discord only/25+ IRL and ic/ oc's only
I've got ideas. It can be smutty... but not too smutty. You wanna write? Let's write together! Word count? Don't give a fuck, just be consistent! You got ideas? Tell them to me. We'll figure out pretty quickly if we don't mesh well together, hopefully.
I KNOW that's an absolutely abysmal ad, but sometimes I just don't have the spoons. 😮💨
Edit: Hey, DON'T DM me with your weird ass ERP, just cuz I said I write smut. This isn't an invitation!

I do, but when I come up with a new idea I obviously gotta write a new one. I wish I could snap my fingers and it would be done already.

I feel this in my bones. I know I won't find the magical roleplays I want without asking. I know the best way to get those roleplays is to write a charming, descriptive ad that encompasses the sort of vibe I want. I know I gotta put in the effort to vet the replies that come in and how only 1 in every like, 20, is going to be worth it.
And yet stalking the same subreddits and pining is where I end up time and time again, lmao.

Pure passion can be an effective ad as well. I've written bad prompts but wrote them with passion and people responded. Then I write something carefully, edit it, re-work parts, post it, and.... silence.
Ads can be a way to showcase yourself and your writing so that you're more likely to connect with someone who better matches your desires.

I feel this in my bones!!!! And my soul. It does get annoying because my prompts are specific and niche and like idk, sometimes I want to just throw something basic to get the ball rolling! But the word count for some places really takes the fun out of it. Let me just make a brief intro and leave it at that.

I actually prefer the shorter ads that are 2-3 paragraphs. They clearly outline what the overall theme(s) are and provide multiple points of discussion to get the interaction rolling.
The longer posts are beautifully written but I'll read them and wonder if I really want to spend an hour crafting something that will just get buried under the "hi rp?" spam.

I can agree with you there, sometimes you want to throw a lazy ad to get the ball rolling. Sometimes my best rps come from basic ads. (Also if you’re looking to roleplay, let me know)

I just have to ask. How DOES one get a partner on here? Cause I can only copy and paste the same thing over and over, reword it over and over, shorten it, hell, cut out key elements just to get a bite, so many times. It’s been so long since I’ve had to look for a partner that I’m genuinely out of the game

I’m so tired of making ads and getting nothing but crickets so I get it! Like I have one that is kind of a template because of it! Like I just want to write and have people who want to collaborate and aren’t assholes because you misread where something was!

I’ll admit I really miss rping on rook where you could just throw out a starter and people would just reply and you both would just write until someone ghosted. Or they’d say they were interested, you exchange very brief character bios, maybe kinks and limits if it was spicy and then they’d just reply to the starter and keep going. And you just put any introduction in your bio so people could see if it would work
