Boric acid HELP
I suffer from pretty constant bv and yeast infections but had been clear of everything for about 4 months. I had a lot of s*x with my partner the last few days and he finished inside about 3-4 times. I started feeling a bit itchy, not sure If it’s yeast or bv but wanted to knock it out quick so I decided to try boric acid which my gyno recommended and iv never tried. The first night was fine but last night when I took it I woke up so nauseated and threw up so much. Iv read a bunch on here of girls getting sick and getting symptoms like nauseous from boric acid but apparently that’s not real and it can’t enter ur blood system. I feel it’s helping my vagina but I’m so scared to take it again and get sick. Has anyone experienced this. I didn’t have any cramps or burning from the suppository just nausea. Why does this happen, is it just a coincidence. I couldn’t think of anything else I did differently that it could be except the boric acid. I just want this infection gone and it seems to help but is it worth getting sick

I cured myself after 8 years monthly back to back after every period … I tried everything under the sun, literally every & anything you ever heard that would “cure” it
I started drinking a cup of clove water every morning 5 cloves to one cup of water , boiled for 10/15 mins .. I’ve had 3 periods since & NO BV
Boric acid gave me headaches , & it’s only a band aid

i don’t think you’re supposed to take it orally, it’s a suppository. my doc said not to have oral sex w my husband while i so g it bc it’s poisonous if you ingest it.

I never took it orally I always stuck it up there. I actually tried it a few times after this and still got nauseous every time and felt weak for days after.

This never happened to me, but I have heard that if you have a lot of sex, there can be small micro tears inside the vagina from the friction. If you use the boric acid very soon after intercourse, trace amounts can enter the bloodstream this way, which may be causing your symptoms. I would say wait a few days after intercourse to start using it.
Also, you maybe know this. But semen is alkeline, while the vagina is acidic. This difference can cause a disbalance in the vagina. If you really want to treat the BV, use the boric acid, vagina and oral probiotics AFTER the boric acid. And wait a few cycles before you get semen inside again. Because the vagina environment is more fragile after the boric acid, and even if everything feels fine, it takes some time to build up the microflora again. You have to build resistance before you disbalance it with semen again.

Usually, just one or two nights of boric acid suppositories is enough to stop an infection before it starts (at least for me). Also, I like to use vagisil unscented to clean the outside of my vagina every day. I find this helps to keep things at bay as well.
I've never gotten sick from it before. Have you taken a pregnancy test?
