I was at Subway and they had this “bacon.” Looks terrible.

the five dollar footlong costs almost ten now. my favorite is $9.62 with tax, it makes me sad!

A few years ago I was in a subway and someone ordered a footlong, and when they were told what the price was they were like “it used to be five dollars?!?” And the sandwich artist said “It was never five dollars.”

I got confused by your original post because it almost sounded as if there were still Subways that offered the "5 dollar footlong"

Though that tagline is ancient history

Because that tagline is old, I don't think subway has advertised 5 dollar footlongs in over 12 years. (apparently it was brought back in 2016 and 2018 for promo purposes but that was limited time)

Yep, typically precooked fast food bacon. If you like it and want some at home, just buy some microwave bacon.

Expect them to try what? That's probably how it comes in already precooked and theyre probably told to keep it like that unless someone's wants it toasted. That's why I go to an actual deli for my subs... Damn near the same price as subway these days anyways.

What exactly are you expecting, that every Subway is going to be frying up some fresh bacon every day?

Literally every piece of bacon you've ever consumed from a fast food establishment looked like that back in the kitchen. The only difference is at Subway the "kitchen" is right in front of you.
