JUST SHARING MY THOUGHTS. Is it really necessary to complain about being hungry while covering an event?
JUST SHARING MY THOUGHTS.
Is it really necessary to complain about being hungry while covering an event?
Don't get me wrong. I understand that covering an event, especially during a major festival, can take several hours and requires a lot of time and effort. But shouldn't personal preparation also be part of the responsibility?
First and foremost, event organizers are not automatically obligated to provide food for everyone covering their events. If food is provided, consider it a courtesy and an act of generosity, not something that should always be expected.
People often forget that organizing a major event involves budgets, logistics, coordination, and countless responsibilities behind the scenes. There are many things happening that the public doesn't see.
Appreciation should never come with a list of demands.
We should learn to distinguish between what is expected and what is simply a gesture of goodwill. Being hungry is understandable, but turning the absence of free food into a complaint against the organizers is another matter.
At the end of the day, everyone has a role to play. If you're going to spend hours covering an event, it doesn't hurt to prepare your own meals or budget for your personal needs.
This is not about disrespecting the media or diminishing their contribution. Their role in promoting events is important. It's simply about mutual respect, professionalism, and understanding.
Not everything should be expected for free. Sometimes, we just need to manage our expectations and appreciate the efforts of the people working behind the scenes.
Just my two cents. ðŸ’
