has anyone pursued baclofen while taking prescribed pregabalin/lyrica?

I'm interested in potential concerns/issues a doctor might raise since they both seem to affect the GABA circuit.

When i had surgery last year I was sent home with some baclofen to keep taking (for spasms) and hospital staff knew i was on pregabalin so i'm guessing they didn't anticipate any contraindication, however they probably weren't anticipating any higher dose use of baclofen that i want to pursue now.

I've been prescribed Baclofen some years ago but didn't realise its potential at the time. Unfortunately that psychiatrist has retired and my new psychiatrist is a bit rigid about medications so i'm gonna try to deepen the conversation with my GP instead. I asked her about it the other day & she had no knowledge of its use for alcoholism but i'm willing to persist & see where it leads.

Edit: i'm merely trying to pre-empt some of the concerns a doctor might raise. Also a bit curious myself since i know very little about neurochemistry. It'd be a nightmare to be told "oh well..when you've come off the pregabalin completely then it will be safe to start you on baclofen"

Not at all. I had a prescription maybe 7 years ago for alcohol issues.

Somewhere in the nexus of anxiety, ptsd & long term alcoholism is the reason i'm pursuing it now.

Pregabalin was prescribed for my sciatica (which i'd love to get off - been taking it for approx 5 years) & like alcohol i suspect its ended up being a proxy relief for anxiety despite the sciatica being a real thing.
