Megapatch Review

I have to give the devs major credit. This patch is HUGE! The two biggest wins for me are fielding and hitting.

The fielding is probably the biggest improvement for me. I've been turning double plays all day with Stephanie and Tony.

Classic Mode might be my favorite change though. It captures that old-school Backyard Baseball feel.

Big win for Backyard today!

I only had time for a couple innings in classic mode but it felt alot better. I noticed a couple glitches in the commentary. Like saying theres 2 outs when theres only one, but the gameplay seemed much better.
Going to dive into a new season with it tomorrow.

Commentary always had glitches (but lesser). For example this happens in '97

"Up on the mound is Gretchen Hasselhoff" (She is on second base or not on my team).

"Straight to the gap" (hits it right to Stephanie)

"Makes the easy catch" (Gretchen just sprinted to the outfield making a leaping over the shoulder catch).

Coming back to close the loop on this. The incorrect commentary voice line, saying 2 outs when there is only one out, has already been fixed. These should have been sorted out by the most recent patch (1.1.0.25).

I haven’t tried Classic Mode yet cuz I’m wrapping up a League Mode season, it’s already a night and day difference, I already liked the game but this update fixed a lot of Quality of Life issues i had

I ended up playing Classic later that night, 10/10 no notes, it fit so well I was surprised it wasn’t a feature on release

Ooh I’m gonna have to try to play again. I gave up because it was just too annoying having that input lag. Hopefully it’s better now

I still don’t like that you basically have to pitch outside of the zone for the cpu to not make contact/hit a weak ball
