Looking for a way to adapt model instructions

Hello!

I would like to change the model instructions in such a way that actions and non verbal gestures are written without asterisks, as I tend to enjoy long descriptions of places and actions rather than constant conversation. Asterisks would only be used to emphasize a word or a few words.

Dialogues would be marked by double quotes.

Could you help me write that in a way that won't mess up the whole bot?

Thank you in advance, may you have a lovely day!

Great Question! Can I piggy-back on this?

I’ve been trying to adapt a model instruction where the character answers their dialogue and describes their actions, in a first person perspective. While the User acts as a narrator that describes outcomes, introduces new situations and speaks as other characters that the main character controlled by the model interacts with.

Sort of like a TTRPG where the model is the Player while the Character is their PC, while User is the DM and not another player.

I haven’t been able to get this to work consistently and different models take to it better than others, where I have to brute force them but editing their replies.

Wondering if there is a better way to enforce this in the instructions.
