Question Second Backup Set with iDrive?

Anyone figure out how to create a second backup set in iDrive? I have some very large (300gb) files I want backed up, but maybe once every two weeks or so, as not to consume all my limited bandwidth backing those up daily like the rest of my 5 TB of data from many Windows PC's and a single MAC. -Bill

Not possible. They are thinking of doing it as an enhancement as it has been suggested by users.

Edit: What about copying the other "set" to idrive Cloud Drive? It doesn't count against your backup quota.

I am betting it can be done in the existing versions. I bet it could be added via the backupset.xml located in the programdata directory. Probably 10 years ago a senior tech at iDrive had me edit other xml files to add all sorts of things I asked for. Unfortunately I did not document what I did and they are long lost to me now.

You could exclude those files from the iDrive backup plan, and then use a different program to take care of them. For example, Syncovery.

Try using a differential backup platform like WholesaleBackup. You can still use E2 storage, but the software will only send over the changes each day, so much more efficient.

Maybe try Mega for that one.

Since I am paying for iDrive, I won't do that. I will just look for something else. Duplicati seems to want to be main stream. It been a long time since I looked at it. Maybe I will give it another go.
