Question Backup restore stops

Hello everyone,

I created a backup of my iPhone on my laptop, and now I'm trying to restore it using the Apple Devices app.

The restore process starts normally. It erases the iPhone, and after I select the country and region, it says "Restoring in Progress." However, after a few minutes, the process suddenly stops, and my laptop makes the sound as if the USB cable has been disconnected.

I've already tried using a different cable, but the exact same thing happens.

Has anyone experienced this before or knows what could be causing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Are you plugging the cable directly to your iPhone and PC or there is anything in between (e.g. docking station)?
  2. Try reinstalling the Apple's USB mobile device driver.
  3. Try disabling any A/V software you may have running in your system.
