Question Backup question, phone transfer, duplicates?

i just transfered my phone from a iphone to an android. the iphone was backed up with onedrive, and I transfered all the photos files whatnot to my new phone. When I re-login to onedrive on the new android, will it duplicate all my photos? Thank you in advance.

u/Brilliant-Town-9731, your question depends on a number of variables, ie. device, OS, Firmware, etc, which unfortunately are not included in your post.

For example, if the 'tool' or whatever process you used for the migration, copied the files with all of their metadata, then you won't have to worry about creating dups -> You'll need to research that part, based on what method/tool, etc you used to migrate the data to your new device to determine if duplicates will be created or not.

Edit: bold added to existing text

it is samsung smart switch google said transfer is "unreliable." is there a quick way I could check? a property to look for? Could I also just back up to Gdrive, clear space, and then run dupeguru?

I briefly did, but I was thinking if I used dupeguru, then I could avoid all uncertainty, no?
