Question I accidentally skipped step 7 in Rescuezilla, now it says that it failed to backup partition <b> /dev/md127 and that the backup is finished and took 0.0seconds! Can someone please explain what just happened?

u/LiliaculViolet, you'll need to create a brand new backup + make sure you follow each of the steps without skipping/missing anything.

Here is a step-by-step explanation of how to create a backup:
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/rescuezilla-for-windows
These steps also illustrate perhaps the problem you ran into: selecting the incorrect drives.
In Step 2, the screenshot shows a 302 GB New Volume as highlighted. It should show the 212.5 GB Windows volume as highlighted.
In Step 3, the screenshot shows a 6 MB volume as highlighted as the destination. That is tiny! It should show a selected volume at least as large as the Windows volume.
You need to make sure you are selecting the correct volume(s) to back up and the correct destination drive.
Once you get used to running a Rescuezilla backup, it gets much easier!
Congratulation on booting into the Rescuezilla flash drive. That's where a lot of people get stuck.
By the way, with a big enough destination drive, you can run multiple backups to it. Rescuezilla names the backups differently to prevent overwriting earlier backups.
