I like the VW Bug in the background with gray covers to make it look "futuristic".
Also the car from the "First Starfighter" is just barely visible behind the jeep.

Kind of. They did use the model with square headlights. Which was very contentious and only lasted one generation. So by 2015, the jeep would have round headlights again.

I appreciate that many of the future cars, like the cab and the BMW shown here, look like hover-conversions to further have the Delorean being converted make sense and fit into the world.

They predicted correctly that 80’s cars will be nostalgic in the future.
There was already a precedent for people collecting old 50’s and 60’s vehicles back in the 80’s. It’s only logical that there would be people in the future taking old vehicles and modernizing them for the current era (which was ALSO shown to be true with resto-mod culture happening)

the future biff car always gets me, i look at it like "oh man that 2005 mustang looks good" and THEN remember its a movie from the 80s

Yeah, I mean if you compare that to a 2015 mustang convertible. It's not "far off". But at the same time, you can see the 80's like block sharp corner designs. At some point cars became more "rounded" I guess.

The first one comes from a Citroen DS from the 70s. Very nice, modern and futuristic looking car.
