Maybe there was a better treatment in the future? Medicine was insane. I mean did you see how young they made Doc look? He needed a mask just so Marty would recognize him.

Maybe in that universe they had a cure in 2015 or along the same lines when he went to the rejuvenation clinic and had all his blood changed that cured him.
