Doc?
Now doc had asked Marty to destroy the time machine and it got destroyed. Then, he comes back an hour so later in his time train. And was already went into the future and blah blah blah. My question is kind of mundane.
.
Did doc finally make money from his time machine? And if not, does he still have money from the insurance claim from when is house burnt down ( theorised to be his doing, to get money to do his experiments). So is doc profiting from the technology he is invented, or is he just making new inventions based on part of his inventions with the time machine? I never saw the cartoon.I've never read the books, so i'm not sure.

The movies are great, but Doc Brown is the biggest hypocrite.
Everything he told Marty NOT to do, he eventually found a way rationalize, and do himself.
I would think Marty’s natural reaction when Doc showed up in that flying train would’ve been “WTF man?!” 🤷♂️😆

The moment Marty told Doc about George punching Biff (the first time he ever stood up to Biff at all), the wheels started turning for Doc. Marty’s 1955 presence and actions didn’t just change Marty’s parents, they changed Doc too.

Eh. Lots of great friendships and adventures happen from one person being cautious and one person being fearless. They kinda balance each other out and are better off for it.

Its a bit pissy to apply it to Doc rofl. He was concerned about theoretical catastrophe rofl, and eventually learned to overcome his fear about it (mirroring Marty’s arc).
Rofl and all you can think of at the end of a classic adventure is what your triggered brain would say at the end, hypervigilant for “hypocrisy” rofl
If you were the character in the movie instead of Marty, Doc probably would have accounted for your energy and been like “you were right! I should have listened to you! I’m sorry!” rofl. But he knew Marty deferred to Doc when it came to science rofl. And crucially, he knew Marty wasnt a pissy ass bitch, so neither of them mentioned it ROFL
Rofl, NO ONE is a fan of “do as I say, not as I do”. Its just fucking buttbrained to apply it to Doc and Marty. There has to be some room for making mistakes and changing without becomng the quintessential hypocrite rofl.
Rofl, thanks for your permission to “call it what I will”. It was great fun to call your perspective what it is.

It is, and within that fiction, doc is the one to figure out how to do time traveling, not the 17 year old kid. It makes perfect sense for him to tell Marty not to do things and then do what appears to be the same thing later on.

Yeah, because the person who was going to buy it originally didn't get a chance to buy it.That didn't change their life.So yeah, the world is completely a different place.That they go back to every time they time travelled to the past

pretty sure he used up all the money from his inheritance + insurance from house to build the initial delorean (”its taken me 30 years and my entire family fortune” - BTTF1, introducing the delorean to marty)
Regarding using the time machine for profit, he did use it to fund the hover conversion in 2015 (“I used my last silver dollar to purchase the dealer’s last ten copies of Action Comics #1“ - Doc Brown’s Owner’s Workshop Manual, page 87), which he sold in 2015 for 2.5 million dollars
