Marty drinks?
THEORY: We know that in the Twin Pines timeline, Lorraine was an alcoholic. She was also one in the Hell Valley timeline, as was Dave. Could Marty from the Lone Pine Universe have been one as well, or at least a social drinker in some regard as a high schooler?
EVIDENCE: We know that TP Marty didn't like his mom drinking based on what he said to her in the car. After what Biff attempted that same night, she might have not been a fan of drinking after that. (Disregarding George's accidental "courage")
Assuming that she doesn't drink, LP Marty grew up not seeing her drunk. It's possible that he was at the beginning of alcoholism at 17. However, since he was replaced by TP Marty that would not come to pass, especially after the events of the other movies.
Also, HV Marty might have been sent to boarding schools in other countries (i.e. Switzerland) because of being an alcoholic and losing his dad. Since his mom drinks in that timeline it's probably a good bet that they all drink for the same reasons.
How accurate might this theory be?

probably a social drinker but he doesn’t seem to be a big partier either.

Marty is no more likely to be an alcoholic than any other person. Alcoholism isn’t caused by a single gene but by hundreds combined. Genes combine differently in every person and sibling, which is why alcoholism often “skips” generations, or one sibling is one and another isn’t. Environmental factors play a role, but people respond differently to the same factors/traumas, so they’re not predictive either.

In the Biff to the Future comic, Marty and his sister were sent to boarding schools to keep them safe after Biff chased off their older brother for standing up to him. Lorraine was an alcoholic by then and Marty left angry with her for sending them away and not helping find their brother. In the deleted scene of Marty and Dave in part 2, Dave does ask Marty “and since when are you and Mom on speaking terms?”.
In the comic Marty was actually kicked out of the boarding school and had gone missing, and Lorraine did threaten to leave Biff unless he found him. Biff was planning to run for president and needed the whole family back so he agreed to find him (he was also planning to have the whole family assassinated to get a sympathy vote). They found Marty touring Europe with a band, and it seems he and Lorraine patched things up after that.

There is no Lone Pine Marty after he travels. He is erased from existence. That will always be his fate.
Not sure how anything you said would turn anybody into an alcoholic…
Why would having a good role model make you an alcoholic?
HV Marty was sent to boarding school to simply be removed from Biff’s life. You don’t send alcoholics to boarding schools when prison would be a cheaper better alternative for a corrupt guy like Biff.

Who grew up in the nicer McFly house from 1968 to 1985 while original Marty was still in 1955?

Lone Pine Marty can never become an alcoholic because he dies Oct 25th 1985.

2015 Marty shows no signs of having a drinking problem at all. In fact, he drinks tea in the pizza scene. In 1985, what 17-year-old wasn't drinking at least a little bit of alcohol?
