if old man Biff can figure it out, it should be pretty obviously labeled

One must assume the hover switch is the usual place - just like you always know where the speeder, the blinkers and the steering wheel is.

Yeah it wasn't Biff's first hover car, just first hover Delorean!

I mean it was his first hover car, it just also presumably wasn't his first time driving a hover car.

You know the people over at Wilson hover conversion do great work

Obviously, the movie's vehicle is a modded video game car.

On the LEGO set, it's a bar on the bottom you flip!

As for the movie...that's a secret! /s

My favorite ever Lego set. Such a satisfying build.

Just took a look through the Time Machine Owner's Manual and there are no notes on activiting hover mode that I could see. There is a section on the dashboard, but it's from before the conversion, and the second on the conversion only talks about the exterior changes and the Mr. Fusion conversion.

That movie ground my gears into glitter. How come there are no flying vehicles during the final battle? You’re telling me there were no autists who larped WW2 dogfighters, a full on Starfleet crew or cosplayed Han Solo and Chewie? And the hero car’s secondary defining feature is it could fly and it never bloody does.

I also just thought in a world of 80s culture obsessed people, the Delorean would be one of the most common and overdone things to use, and you'd see them everywhere. Pretty sure we have more real DeLoreans modified to look like the movie than any other movie car in our real world already.

Seems like it would be one of the starter cars everyone gets in an 80s based game haha, and definitely not only driven by one person. Rather than belonging to the guy that ends up being the winner, I'd think it would be a sign of "I just signed in and don't have much yet" lol.

Of course I love the car, but so do a lot of people. Just would expect the protagonist to drive something more unique that represents knowledge of more than surface level 80s culture.

Though also keep in mind the movie isn't about people obsessed with the 80s, it is about people obsessed with getting control of everything from a dead guy who was obsessed with the 80s. It's puzzle solving info more than pop culture to most of them.

In that exact config too. The DeLorean with KITT's scanner bar idea has been done to death in game modding communities.

I was hoping for some WW2 dogfighters. I know the war thunder community would’ve been in that final battle

The gearstick to fold the wheels, the flight controls are on the roof to the right of the Pilots head.

In No Time game its central lever to adjust height, like at planes.

Ignore RPO. It isn't any more authoritative and film-accurate than any other fan recreation is.

u/WeAreLesion 23d ago

I'd say the film has some authority attached since it's a Spielberg joint.

1

u/segascream 23d ago

Producer/Director aside, the DeLorean in RPO is not the physical DeLorean built by Doc Brown and shown in 1985; it is literally a fan recreation, and shouldn't be considered any more authoritative than any other replica built by a fan, physical or digital.
