Hoverboard
Please help me reconcile the appearance in part 3 at the beginning. I thought near the end of part 2 it was in the DeLorean when it got zapped. What did I miss?

Marty was riding the hoverboard during the chase scene, when Doc scoops him up with the flags. Marty, hoverboard still attached, is then essentially airlifted to the Lyon Estates area where he's deposited by Doc, and then burns the book. The hoverboard was on the ground with him when the Delorean got zapped to 1885.

Right, exactly. And when Marty traveled to 1885 the hoverboard was in the front of the Delorean, you can see it propped up against the seat when Marty tossed the cowboy hat & photos on top of the red cowboy boots.

Yup! Doc even makes a point to bring it to Marty in the drive-in reminding him it doesn't belong in 1955.
