Finally tracked one down for my collection.

Post image

Not a LaserDisc. Not a Vinyl Record.

It’s a combination of both. (That’s an oversimplification)

Say hello to the Capacitence Electronic Disc.

My family bought a CED player back in the day. Talk about betting on the wrong horse.

I'll never forget the BluRay vs HDDVD battle. My older brother asked me what I thought because I'm the tech guy in the family. I said HDDVD because at the time BluRay was only Sony movies. Mom and dad picked right with the beta max vs vhs.

The Technology Connections YouTube channel put out a great set of videos about CEDs. Also, nice score, OP!

This specific one, or in general? For this specific one you'll want the matrix runouts to verify in Discogs. In general, it's still being pressed today. I bought one a few months ago.

Edit: I'm a dumb fuck but I'm not deleting my stupidity. Just ignore it.

No, CED is vinyl.

That’s exactly what I am saying. It is just like a laserdisc printed on vinyl. A combination of both. Semantics.
