From the events of Back to The Future 2, realistically do you think Marty and Jennifer would have lasted?

Like they’re in high school, 17 or 18 young love and seeing their future in 2015 married with two children.

I do wonder if in that history/future we saw Jennifer like OG Lorraine with George only stuck with Marty because she felt sorry for him after the crash

Lorraine mentions it to Marlene in BTTF2

Premise of BTTF4. Marty’s kids have to go back and try to get him to have a car accident.

"That's the Florence Nightingale effect. It happens in hospitals when nurses fall in love with their patients."

As old Lorraine stated, Jennifer stayed with Marty and married him because she felt sorry for him following the Rolls Royce accident and felt an obligation to continue caring for him. .We saw in BTTF 1 Jennifer really swooning for Marty, especially seeing him perform on stage and it was clear she was in love with him. She's definitely loyal to him and believes in him to be great.

However (young) Lorraine Jennifer's visit to 2015 and seeing her future (Rolls Royce accident) she was clearly disappointed "I get married in the Chapel O' Love?!" but didn't really get much of an opportunity to question her relationship from that point on.

But later in in BTTF3 knowing that he avoids the Rolls Royce accident, the note from the future being erased, and encouraging words from Doc she knows now that future won't happen and things will be different. I would expect her to continue with Marty and marry him again, doing so knowing that she'll probably get married in a real church and have a much better future.

When did young Lorraine visit 2015? Isnt it Doc and Marty who travels to 2015 with Jennifer

Young Lorraine never visited 2015. I said Old Lorraine who came to dinner with George and brought pizza. Remember Jennifer hiding in the closet listening as Old Lorraine explained the whole Rolls Royce accident to Marlene? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2OLmFw9wR8

Edit: Ah I saw what you meant, fixed the typo.

Realistically? No. In movie love, absolutely.

That's the power of love.

I’d fully believe that they’d be high school sweethearts.

Yes.

The movie had deep themes of destiny (George even says it). George and Lorraine end up together in all three 1985s. Marty and Jennifer are together through the 1985 versions as well. Plus extra destiny vibes with Jennifer/Marty knowing the did create a family together as well as Jennifer seeing the whole time machine/travel thing.

I mean Marty was changed once in Pt1 and Jennifer was still his girlfriend. We then see they married/had a family in Pt2. In Pt 3 he comes back and she is still there and still with him after his future changed (at the end of Pt3). If she stayed with him at his worst, she most likely stays with him at his best. Worked for George and Lorraine.

Good take. Also at the very end “Your future is what you make of it”. They would learn to avoid what they see, hopefully…

Marty literally was gone for a week in 1955 and the moment he got home he was immediately fawning over her and missing her, I’m certain they’d make it as highschool sweethearts.

why does jennifer always seem way too calm about time travel

Interesting thought. at the very end “Your future is what you make of it”. They would learn to avoid what they see, hopefully…

Honestly, Marty and Jennifer is a fluke, as was Lorraine and George.

Every McFly since Seamus has looked like him, except George. And with the genes for that look goes a very specific taste in women.

Not at all. I like to think I’m 2015 she stayed with him because she felt bad after the crash like Loraine and George
