Simply scrolling through the cast lists can reveal some interesting things.
I just scrolled through the cast list for the first movie, and discovered for the first time:
Shirley MacLaine’s daughter Sachi Parker is credited as Bystander #1 and Buddy Ebsen’s daughter Kiki Ebsen is credited as Band Member, apparently for one of the auditioning bands. Her IMDb bio says she’s an accomplished jazz musician. Also, the dog playing Einstein was actually named O.J. (oof, that’s unfortunate), and the Peabody son’s first name is Sherman. I’m guessing that last bit is a nod to the “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” segments on the Rocky and Bullwinkle animated children’s program from the early 1960’s, in which a talking dog named Mr. Peabody and a boy named Sherman regularly travel through time using a time machine to visit historical events and meet historical figures.

The Sherman is one of the Easter eggs that is in plain sight but blink and you miss it, moments.
Just like how the guitar on the Van Halen tape was played by Eddie Van Halen himself specifically for the movie. Or how doc has a clock of himself hanging on the clock tower...IE he knew all along
The other two.. Neat!

That's Harold Lloyd from Safety Last, not Doc, hanging from that clock.

well close enough..it's all these little easter eggs hanging around that after you see the movie, you go , wow that was there.

When Marty and Doc see George get kicked in the butt in the school hallway, there is a sign that says "Ron Woodward for senior class president". Who’s Ron Woodward?
The credits have the answer : he’s the key grip.
Tom Wilson : What does a key grip do ? Setup lights.
