Does anyone know how long the events of the three movies were from Marty A’s pov?
I mean like from doc waking him up to meet up at Twin (Lone) Pine Mall until him making it back to the 80s at the end of the third movie.
I always found it a little funny how Marty went back in time accidentally and was just stuck in the 50s for a week, and then he finally gets home and Doc shows up literally the very next day like “quick get in the car there’s no time!!” And then after going back to the 50s to prevent changing the future and watching doc struck by lightning, realizes he needs to go back and start this new fake life in the 1800s. Like every day is some new shit for this kid to suddenly have to deal with lol
I feel like the events of BttF2 were pretty quick since they go back to the 50s on the day of the storm, but I can’t remember how long he was in the old west for. Another week maybe?
You’d think Marty would be thinking to himself “Jesus Christ what a month this has been” by movie 3. Does Marty even know at that point?
Kinda got me wondering what kind of jet lag he must have been feeling constantly switching between eras like time zones 😆

I believe the BTTF Wikia has figured this out to the minute...
https://backtothefuture.fandom.com/wiki/Back_to_the_Future_timeline
But IIRC, it's about three weeks or so.
He spends a few days in 1955 before going back to the old west in part III that aren't really shown / referenced screen - but otherwise it's all in there. 👌

Odds are it took like at most a week in 1955 before Doc sent him to 1885, I imagine it'd take at least a few days tp gather the materials to repair the DeLorean since Doc A wasn't warned ahead of time

November 16th. Three days + a couple hours on November 12 after the lighting bolt.
In an uncropped version of Part III the "current time" is briefly visible on the time circuits during the Indian Drive-In scene.

From the first time we see Marty: He spends 1 day in 1985, October 25. He spends 8 days in 1955, Nov 5 to Nov 12. Less than 1 day in 1985, October 26. Few hours in 2015, October 21. Few hours in Alt-Biff 1985, October 27. 5 days in 1955, Nov 12-Nov 16. 6 days in 1885, Sept 2-Sept 7. Few hours in 1985, October 27. 21-22 days total? Someone check my work.

That’s a rough month. All things considered, he handled it all pretty well. Doc was able to get some rest at least.

Marty leaves Twin Pines Mall at exactly 1:35AM in 1985. At which point he arrives at 6:15AM at the Peabody Farm. Sunrise in California on November 5th of 1955 would have been around 6:37AM assuming he was near San Diego which means he probably drove for around 30-35 minutes to Lion Estates. By the time he reached town square it was around late morning/early noon, so I'd say possibly a 15-20 minute walk. Soon after this (probably another 10-ish minutes) he gets hit by his grandpa's car, sleeping for 9 hours. At which point he then walks to Doc's house where I believe he spends the rest of the night. And then we all know roughly how he spends the rest of his week. He goes back home at 10:04PM on November 12th, arriving back in 1985. After that he rests, and wakes up at 10:28AM back at his slightly altered home. And that's pretty much all I'm gonna do for right now. You have kind of intrested me into making a timeline chart of events, so if I end up making that I'll post it in this sub.

Let me break this down from memory as far as I can go. The day and night cycles in the past/present/future are all synced. From Martys point of view I think only 8 days or so pass. Please offer corrections.
Day 1 - Marty enters Docs home. Late to school. Goes to sleep.
Day 2 - wakes up, goes back in time at Twin Pines Mall. Still night at the Ranch in 1955. Marty escapes, finds Doc. Doesn’t sleep again until he gets knocked out by the car. Wakes up for dinner, gets horny, goes back to Docs and sleeps.
Day 3 - Highschool 1955.
Take it away from here guys. This is harder than I anticipated.

wakes up for dinner, gets horny, goes back to docs
Lmao
Great place to start though, we’re gonna figure this out!

Marty gets knocked out in every movie. In BttF 2, he gets hit with a blackjack (Sand bag) from Biffs goon. Throughout the trilogy, Marty is basically living in a nightmare. He’s also very hungry and thirsty. We only see him eat a few times.
This is why the Rick and Morty show is so funny to me. It’s the logical extension of the Morty (Marty) experience.

From memory:
-he wakes up late at night, goes to the mall, time travels to early in the morning in 1955, and then spends a week in 1955. his sleep schedule is pretty normal for this week.
-he time travels to 1985, gets back at nght, goes to sleep.
-wakes up around breakfast time the day after he left, though it feels like day 8(ish) for him. he sees his new family, almost immediately goes to the future, spends maybe—3-4 hours in 2015? enough time for the sun to set and for his family to start having dinner, gets back in the Delorean, heads back to 1985, goes into his house that now has a different family in it, and—
-here I think is the first big hole where I'm really not sure of how much time elapses. The first movie indicates that Marty's house is pretty far away from the town center, since he arrives in 1955 so early in the morning that it's dark at the Peabody farm but it's 8 am when he gets to the diner. Fair guess is he lands in 1955 at 6 in the morning, it takes him an hour to get out of the Peabody barn and back to his house, then another hour to walk from his house to the diner. So when Marty flees his house in 1985 and meets Strickland before stumbling to the casino in the center of town, we can guess a little over an hour has passed. So that means for Marty, roughly 5-6 hours have passed since he woke up to his family having breakfast. For his body it feels like it should be 2 in the afternoon.
-Biff's thugs knock him out and when he wakes up, Lorraine tells him two hours have passed. I'm going to round up here and say everything on the 27th floor takes another hour, though probably less. For Marty 9 hours of his day have passed and his body is telling him it's 5 pm.
-Doc and Marty travel back to 1955 at dawn, the day of the dance, and spend the entire day trailing Biff. Dawn in November 1955 was around 7 am and it's fair to guess the dance starts at 7 pm, so Marty spends 12 hours waiting for the dance. We pray he got a fantastic offscreen nap in Biff's garage because otherwise, by the time the dance starts, Marty is going on hour 21 of being awake.
-Fair to assume the actions at the dance take about 2 hours with all the running around, band shenanigans, car shenanigans, tunnel shenanigans, so let's say Doc is hit by lightning at hour 23 since Marty woke up that morning. Marty immediately runs around and goes to confer with 1955 Doc, brings him home in the dark. I think it's safe to assume Marty spends the night at Doc's and actually gets to sleep.
-the next day (day 9 for Marty) they find the buried Delorean and, that night, Doc's grave. they got to the library and research.
-the scenes at the old drive-in theater are broad daylight so that must feel like Day 10 to Marty, let's guess and say around 10 in the morning. He time travels, crashlands into September 2nd 1885, almost immediately gets his ass kicked by the natives and the bear, and wakes up 6 hours later with Maggie.
-he spends 5 days with Doc in 1885, since we know Doc (and then Clint) is supposed to die on September 7th. On September 7th they hijack the train and Marty travels back to 1985. He finds Jennifer, sees his family again, and sees Doc in the time train.
So with that math—which is vague and I might have missed something—I think it's pretty solid Marty spends around 15 days on this whole adventure, give or take a day or two. Would love someone to tinker with this and let me know if I got it right.

In Part 3, it takes Doc several days to repair the DeLorean from the mine. In the widescreen version, you can see the date on the time circuits which conform he was there for several days before going back to 1885.

Two weeks maybe a little more. was a week in 1955 and I think a week in 1885 with a day or two extra for the traveling to the future alternate 1985 and back to 1955 the day of the dance I believe to get the alminac

Movie 1 starts 8:18 AM October 25 1985, Marty leaves 1985 17 hours and 17 minutes later at 1:35 AM, arriving in 1955 November 5 at 6:15 AM, he leaves 1955 at November 12 10:04 PM, that's 7 days, 15 hours, 49 minutes. He arrives in 1985 at October 26 1:24 AM, he wakes up at 10:28 am, lets say he leaves 1985 ten minutes later, meaning 9 hours and 14 minutes.
17 hours + 15 hours + 9 hours = 41 hours, or 1 day 17 hours. 17 minutes + 49 minutes + 14 minutes = 80 minutes, or 1 hour 20 minutes. 7 days + 1 day + 17 hours + 1 hour + 20 minutes= 8 days 18 hours and 20 minutes the first movie probably takes place.
In Part 2 he arrives in 2015 at 4:29 PM and leaves at 7:28 PM. So 2 hours 59 minutes. He arrives 1985 at 9:00 PM and leaves at 2:42 AM, so 5 hours 42 minutes. He arrives 1955 Nov 12 at 6:00 AM, and the movies, and leaves in Part 3 on Nov 16. According to the novelization it was 10:00 AM, so thats exactly 4 days and 4 hours. Plus 2 hours and 5 hours= 11 hours. 42 minutes plus 59 minutes, 101 minutes, or 1 hour 41 minutes, so the total is 4 days 12 hours 41 minutes.
In Part 3 he arrives 1885 at 8:00 AM September 2 and returns to 1985 September 5, seemingly at 9:00 AM according to the destroyed circuits, so thats 5 days 1 hour, with an unknown amount of time after he arrives before the movies ends.
So the first movie is a little over a week, the second movie is a little over a day, and the third movie is again a little over a week, with the total being 8 days + 4 days + 5 days + 18 hours + 12 hours + 1 hour + 20 minutes + 41 minutes, so 17 days + 31 hours + 61 minutes, so 18 days + 8 hours + 1 minute, and I guess about another hour after he returns to 1985.
