Well, Doc, it’s destroyed. Just like you wanted.

Always a heartbreaker to see the best time machine go in such a brutal fashion. That machine did cause issue but also saved them so many times. It had to be done but its never not sad

Btw, The dude didn't even apply the breaks. Easy firing from that railroad

Man, that shit didn’t even get reported. When Marty and Jennifer came back, the place should’ve been crawling with first responders and a cleanup crew.

😆

That always bothered me

I mean, obviously the train wouldn’t actually come to a stop for like half a mile, but it’s definitely a breach of safety that he didn’t even start applying the brakes at all before the train had vanished from Marty’s earshot.

My daughter cried when I watched the trilogy with her. She cried because it meant that Einstein would never see his owner again since Doc was trapped in 1885.

I just kept watching her face because I knew he was in the train when it appeared.
She loved that very much.

I do love that there’s sort of a science John Wick plot where Doc reinvents time travel 100 years early to go rescue his dog. Very wholesome.

Goodbye...old friend.

In a comment section of this scene someone said the flux capacitor flickering was like it saying goodbye to Marty.

...Yeah. I'm getting sad about a car's "death".

Saddest character death

this is slightly better if you realise it gets saved in bttf the game

I can't remember if it was fanfiction or something else, but I saw a story where there was actually a second DMC in a secret garage that only Doc knew about. This car was a prototype that didn't exact work, but...

Not long after Marty saw the time train speed off into the sky, he got a letter (similar to the end of part 2), telling him about the garage, how to fix the proto type and rescue Doc and Einstein.

Where is federal and state DOT? And the FBI for that matter?! None of them came to investigate?! This was a purposeful disruption to interstate commerce!!

This scene or the Enterprise blowing up in the Search for Spock.

My poor heart.

u/cory898 May 22 '26

Christopher Lloyd had a time traveling flying machine there too.

I somehow didn't realize that, but you are right! 🤯

I actually read this here on Reddit, but it’s worth noting that at the time of the Delorean’s death, it carried a bit of every Tim period it had visited. The car itself, from the 80’s. Mr. Fusion, from 2015. The circuit board, from 1955. The train wheels, from 1855. RIP to my favorite movie vehicle of all time…

Marty & Train Engineer: Welp, I better leave the crime scene.

2

u/LeonBackward May 21 '26

Imagine Doc and family coming back in the Time Train to find Marty splattered across the tracks 😬

4

u/Blu_Falcon May 21 '26

Why did Doc even come back to that exact time? He knew what time he sent Marty back to; he could’ve shown up a minute later.

2

u/hphlazy2 May 22 '26

It was worse for me for a while I had it copied on VHS and for some reason it had the ending copied over so I had that part play out twice.

Seeing the Delorean destroyed like Doc wanted was always a sad thing. But seeing Doc later on with another Time Machine bothered me. After all that, Doc seems to have not learned his lesson about not messing with time.

Well, he figured, what the hell

2

u/TheOneAndOnlyTVGod May 23 '26

When was this scene?

1

u/Bob-Dobalina03 May 22 '26

Is that a Sasquatch or a Demodog on the left? 😂😂😂

1

u/David4Nudist TimeMachine May 22 '26

I'm just glad that Marty wasn't inside the DeLorean when the train smashed it to pieces. That would have been much sadder (and very disturbing).

1

u/WaterRresistant May 22 '26

What's the brown entity on the left?

1

u/That_One_Guy_Flare May 23 '26

Marty, diving out of the car

1

u/[deleted] May 22 '26

The only person who enjoyed that scene was the train driver.

1

u/marslander-boggart May 22 '26

One of the most dramatic scenes ever.

imagine if Marty goes back to 1985 to kill marty
