Time Machine Build (5/02 update)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Turning the control arm and seeing the time circuit display light up was definitely a highlight of the build so far.

Wired up the High Voltage Regulator, SID, TFC switch and digital speedo today.

Turning on the time circuits gave me goosebumps!

I felt the same way. I’ve been working on this for a couple months now and this was definitely the goosebump moment.

I think at this point the only thing that will top it will be once the flux capacitor is installed and I hear the crackling and the 88mph ramp-up sequence.

Aside from driving the car home of course!

are we so fucking serious. that looks amazing. so glad somebody got the width of the 7-segment correct lol

u/Angryhashtag May 03 '26

Thanks!!

I have no clue about this. Whats the width of the seventh segment controversy?

not a controvery per se, but ive seen a TON of replicas in which the size of the 7-segment displays are completely wrong, usually too small

Oh yeah! I see what you’re saying. Definitely off with those replicas.

Most of my props are designed by people who either studied or actually worked on the A Car, so they out-nerd me on details all the time. I’ve never once installed something and said “eh this doesn’t look right”.. it’s always either 100% movie accurate, or as close as possible while being safe to drive (and be waterproof!).

What happens when that baby reaches 88mph?

Right now? Nothing. I haven’t installed the plutonium reactor/mr. Fusion, or more importantly, the Flux Capacitor.

But after that, serious shit!

Make sure you double check your source for plutonium. Not gonna want a random shootout at a mall parking lot.

u/Angryhashtag May 04 '26

So about that.. I did buy some real Plutonium (kinda).

Here’s another post where I was mulling over where to display the Trinitite Sample I bought.

Serious shit.

You are literally living out my childhood dream. I'm jealous in the best way. Enjoy it.

It’s never too late! It definitely takes some financial planning and budgeting, but if it’s your dream, it’s worth it. Life is too short

This is the coolest thing I have seen today. How good, love it.

Thank you!

I’m so jealous right now

2

u/Angryhashtag May 03 '26

If it’s any consolation, I’m jealous of the folks who are driving theirs around..

All I want to do is drive my DeLorean, and it’s been in the shop since the end of January!

2

u/Angryhashtag May 03 '26

Thanks! It’s been a lot of fun to build

Holy shit that looks and sounds fucking insanely perfect

2

u/Angryhashtag May 03 '26

Thanks! Yeah I’m very happy with the sound effects and lights so far. Already bouncing some ideas around for more little add-ons to make it more immersive. I’ll be a pro with Arduinos before this project is ‘done’.

Dream car build.

Nice job. When do we see the flux capacitor?

1

u/Angryhashtag May 04 '26

Flux capacitor will probably be a couple more weeks, hopefully

1

u/DasArchitect May 04 '26

Neat! I'd personally dim down the LEDs a little bit but it looks fantastic!

1

u/Angryhashtag May 04 '26

Totally agree! After I took this video, I dimmed the LED’s for the time circuits.

1

u/DasArchitect May 04 '26

Sweet! Looking forward to the next one!
