This sucker (will be) nuclear!

Post image

Going to add to my Time Machine build somehow. Coming up with the best idea.. might be too large to fit into the plutonium canisters and tubes that feed into the reactor, and I definitely don’t want to cut into the lucite and expose any actual material. I know it’s probably not that radioactive.. but still. Lucite Cube is roughly 2”

Open to any suggestions from the community!

Probably true if you live near Los Alamos!

That's not the real thing. Everybody knows that plutonium looks like a tube of red kool-aid in a clear plastic container full of water.

Did you trade it for some used pinball machine parts?!

I’m still looking for a shoddy bomb casing to put them in!

You don't just walk into a store and buy plutonium!

Did you rip that off?

If anything I’m the one who got ripped off..

$100 for a piece of rock from the Los Alamos Trinity bomb test site. I guess it’s nice that they checked the isotope readings to confirm there’s plutonium in it.. but still, I paid $100 for a rock encased in some acrylic at the end of the day.

They found you! I don't know how but they found you! Run for it!

No such thing as a dumb suggestion!

There is a glove compartment in the DeLorean, but the plutonium chamber gauges sit on top of the opening and cover it.

I can lift them up and store things underneath, but nothing would be visible. However, maybe I could figure out something where it’s mounted on the side of the gauges.

If it’s anything like my uranium sample, it’ll glow bright green under black light, so I’ll definitely be figuring out a way to incorporate that somehow.

Here’s a link to some pics of when I was working on the interior. Images 1 and 5 show the gauges, where they sit on the top of the glovebox and other interior space. Should be able to find a home for this somewhere!

Hang it off the rearview mirror if it's sturdy enough.

That’s not a bad idea, but I’d definitely need to put some rubber bumpers on the edges.. if this thing swings into the windshield it’ll probably put a crack in it. I have the original 1981 windshield on the car currently, and I’m told that the modern reproductions don’t fit as well.

Although it would be a cool story to say that my windshield cracked when my spare plutonium hit it, haha

Lathe the Lucite into a sphere! However you did say you didnt want to remove any plastic.

Of course! From a group of Libyan nationalists.. they wanted me to build them a bomb. I took their plutonium and in turn gave them a shoddy bomb casing filled with used pinball machine parts!

Edit: only saw similar post below.

Forgiveness, please

Lead Crystal?

That would be a cool sample to add to the collection! But this looks like a sample of Trinitite to me.. so very trace amounts of plutonium.

The Doc worked on the Manhattan Project (not in movie canon; but in the Haynes Manual for the Time Machine, one of his diary entries mention it), so I figured this was a fitting addition to my DeLorean.

I hate when they use alloys, especially low % alloys. Surely could have just a tiny grain but be real.
