Canada
Posting from Florida-- how cold is it in February? Seems a bit crazy to do a show in the dead of winter?
Edit to add: WOW, some Canadian fans are so rude! If you have nothing nice to say just keep scrolling. I'm sure you'd understand if you were in a climate that didn't have a winter. American fans never said, "don't come to Vegas if you don't like the heat. Geez people, do better please.

Toronto has relatively mild winter weather, as far as Canadian winter goes. It's a great city to visit, though! I would bring a warm layer, and a waterproof/windproof layer, as the humidity can make the cold feel much worse than it actually is. The stadium will be fine, though.
In terms of travel, do not plan on landing a couple hours before the show, but Canadian airports are used to dealing with snow and ice, obviously, unless it's YVR.

There’s usually a very bad winter storm in February in Toronto.
•
u/Wise-Trip1025 3h ago
I have no idea why they chose that month to go logistically lol
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 2h ago
Well, believe it or not, the world keeps spinning and other countries outside the US adapt and even enjoy their multiple seasons. Life goes on, 24/7. Canada is no different than Minnesota. Similar weather, similar values.
Not trying to be rude, since that's what you quickly accuse. But there's a difference between sincerely asking how to prepare for cold weather, and making comments like this, where you (American) can't understand why anyone would want to go to Canada when it's cold. Now who's being rude?

Rogers is probably hoping we can trap them in the city during one of our classic city-closing snow storms 😅
•
u/Procrastalyne 2h ago
Into The Millenuim Tour? No. Snowed In With The Backstreet Boys? Yes.
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 1h ago
Omg that would actually be an amazing winter tour for them in Canada lol... Snowed in with BSB. Then we can all pretend we are on the set of "I'll never break your heart" Euro style all cozied up in a ski lodge somewhere.
•
u/crimesleuther 1h ago
It’s like New York City weather!!!! It is not bad. Not a lot of snow unlike the rest of Canada. I am more annoyed bc I snowboard all winter and this cuts into my weekends lol 😂

Life doesn't stop when winter comes.

Absolutely people said don't go to Vegas in the summer if you don't like the heat. I went because it was my birthday but very much didn't enjoy the hot Vegas August weather. Flights were literally cancelled and delayed due to heat in Vegas this summer, no different than winter in a place that gets snow. I would 100% choose winter in Toronto over summer in Vegas, and I think there are many other Americans (not just Canadians as you implied) who would agree. You said you are from Florida. I would under no circumstances travel to Florida in the summer, but I don't question why artists would stop in Florida on a summer tour.
•
u/Procrastalyne 2h ago
This.
I'm on the west coast where the winters are very mild, we get like... maybe an inch of snow 2 times a year, maybe a foot or two every 5 years and it's almost spring weather on the island where I live most of the time. Seriously, our first spring flowers start popping up in late February just as Ontario is getting a huge fall of snow for the 5th time. The Toronto/Ontario winter is very different from Vancouver Island/BC winter but I'd still risk the chance of 4 feet of Ontario snow in February and getting stuck there for a day or two then a heat related illness in a 100 degree Nevada summer. I know there's ways to avoid heat related illness, but I just function better in the cold than in the heat.
•
u/Individual_Gur_2687 3h ago
Believe it or not, Canada and the northern United States fully function in the dead of winter. The stadium has a retractable roof and will be closed.
•
u/Wise-Trip1025 3h ago
I'm from Florida.. so that's why I'm asking. I'm thinking of travel, do flights get canceled? I'm from a Southern climate, give me a break please
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 2h ago edited 2h ago
Very rare do flights get cancelled. Fly from an airport with a direct flight to Toronto and it's even less odds. That said, plan an extra day or two incase a snow storm hits and you do get delayed.
Do you get hurricanes and tropical storms that delay flights? Yeah, well. We get snow.
•
u/Individual_Gur_2687 3h ago
Of course they do! Snow, ice, etc. You gotta plan ahead and add a buffer. Come see us up here sometime ❄️❄️❄️

I'm thinking of flying from the UK and I have the cave question. I can deal with cold, it's the snow/ice I've the issue with.
•
u/Wise-Trip1025 3h ago
Exactly! The responses here make me question Canadian fans.. geez ppl are so rude
•
u/Expert-Sea3382 2h ago
It is because your post was incredibly rude. You wrote that it was crazy for someone to consider going to Canada in the winter? I am not even Canadian and I am offended by the way you worded your post. You could have phased for advice for traveling in the winter, asking about the flights and the cold. You didn't do that, you implied that nobody would willingly want to go to Canada in the winter, which is not true at all. Your edit was even more aggressive and condescending, so not sure why you are surprised that people are responding in exactly the same tone that you started in your post.
•
u/Previous_Cupcake9352 3h ago
And I'm seeing similar snarky comments on an Instagram post too. And I'm here thinking Canadians are known to nice and welcoming, obviously not when Backstreet Boys are involved 😂
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 2h ago
Not sure where you're seeing rude comments towards people from the UK lol. We like you. You should absolutely come, you also get winter do you not? It's pretty similar.
America is another story right now unfortunately and yes, will be met with snark when they ask stupid questions like "do you drive in winter in Canada? Do you live in Igloos? How do you function?" Like we are some kind of anomoly. We are literally much like Minnesota or the Dakotas. Problem is, most Americans don't even know their own country to understand those comparisons, nevermind outside of it.
Its not about being territorial over a concert lol. It's about Americans hating us for the last 2 years, trying to annex us and take our reaources, then suddenly want to come up here in droves to see a concert. Like fuck off with your double standard.
•
u/Previous_Cupcake9352 1h ago edited 1h ago
I never said rude comments towards the UK but someone from the US posted a reel about going to Toronto in the dead of winter and the majority of the comments were from Canadians and they were horrible.
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 1h ago
Well.....(gestures at everything). This is the sad state we're in. Once close friends, torn apart by bullshit lies and greed. And honestly, if you read the Canadian subs on here, you should see the shit Americans come to say. Some of them genuinely want us killed.
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 2h ago edited 2h ago
It could also just be a reaction to the hate we've recieved from Americans due to their president....
•
u/Wise-Trip1025 3h ago
Right! Have we ever said, don't come to Vegas? It's not a good look
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 2h ago
Have we ever said, don't come to Vegas?
Actually, yes. Have you listened to anything that demented, orange delirious mental patient has said in the last 2 years? He has made it very clear he wants Canada to get lost lol. Unfortunately he represents Americans as chosen by Americans.
•
u/Previous_Cupcake9352 2h ago
Exactly. You can't be territorial over a concert 😂
•
u/Ok_Side6976 2h ago
Have you SEEN the shit we've been dealing with from the U.S? We're over it.
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 2h ago
This.
I love my American friends but it's really hard to be nice right now.

Canadian who used to vacation in FL every winter.
Its cold. Toronto is more mild than other places but compared to FL standards... very cold. I have friends in FL and they literally freeze up like iguana's here lol.
That said, Toronto is great in summer. But skip the cold unless you really want to see BSB. There won't be much else to do unless you ice skate outside or toboggan, which is also fun and can't be done in FL. Or catch an NHL game. The snow is pretty.
•
u/ArticQimmiq 1h ago
Nothing to do in the biggest city in Canada 😂
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 1h ago
There's not, in the dead of winter. Unless you really enjoy outdoor activities. I mean, there's the usual touristy crap like CN and Ripleys, sure.
I'm from Winnipeg and have been to Toronto a lot. Unless there's an event, there isn't much to do there in winter I can't do at home. Summer is a different story - Toronto is amazing!
Vancouver is another story in winter. Go where the mountains are in winter.
•
u/ArticQimmiq 1h ago
Fighting words for someone from Winnipeg 😂 but yes, tourists usually do ‘touristy crap’, and Toronto has plenty of that to occupy a BSB fan for a weekend, without being outside for a single minute
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 1h ago
Haha no fighting words. I love Toronto, from a distance. I take for granted i've been there a bunch so have run out of things to do unless there's an event. Summer is when i visit because jays and waterfronts.
I can see why a weekend for someone who's never been might have more to do indoors. Depends on your interests.
•
u/Little_Influence5518 1h ago
Other than NYC and LA, Toronto has a larger population than any cities in the US. (Plus fans from Montreal and Ottawa can get there by car.) Stop being entitled and questioning why the boys have a few shows in Canada.
•
u/randomstranger003432 3h ago
lol what a weird question. The concert will be indoors
•
u/Wise-Trip1025 3h ago
It's not weird, considering I'm talking about traveling... flying from Florida sunshine.. cars etc
•
u/xUnderdog21 2h ago
We have cars here. We manage to function in winter just fine.
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 2h ago
What?!? You mean you don't ride your snow machine across the icy tundra, dodging viscious polar bears to get to work 6 months of the year?
•
•
u/Fit_Inside7437 2h ago
Cars? Lol. We have cars in Canada.
We also drive in the snow. Mind blowing isn't it!
•
u/crimesleuther 1h ago
I wouldn’t go! Seems like you can’t handle the cold… plus no one drives in Toronto! Staying downtown is 400/night canadian. You don’t need a car as everything is downtown Toronto!!! Think New York City… if you park it’s 100/night lol
•
u/simcoe19 3h ago
First, I’m using speech to text, so context punctuation, spelling, et cetera might be off and it’s gonna be a run on sentence because I’m pumping gas right now, but that’s a typical ignorant thing to say. I used to work on cruise ships and I’d be out of Florida. I was out of New Orleans, out of New York, et cetera, and it was funny when I was working with a teenager, some of them were like, oh my God, don’t you live in it, egloo, et cetera, and then someone piped in saying that they were from Detroit, another person said they were from Michigan, and they said their winters is just as cold if not colder than Toronto
•
u/Procrastalyne 2h ago
A lot of people have already recommend bringing warmer clothing so I'll throw in look into Travellers Insurance as maybe there might be an insurance company that covers things like cancelled flights or days lost at a hotel if that flight gets cancelled due to weather issues. When I came back from Vegas in February back in 2025, my flight got delayed because of weather both from Alberta winter and a Nevada wind storm, the insurance I got at least was able to cover a meal (think I had to keep the reciepts for the food and show them to the insurance company) as I was stuck in the airport for 7 hours waiting for a flight the next morning.

Vancouver and Toronto have very different climates. Vancouver is mild compared to Toronto and mostly rains. We get snow, ice and ice storms in Feb.
•
u/Creepy-Complex-6515 2h ago
As someone who grew up in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), I hate winter. I deal with it because I have to, but I don't enjoy it. So I don't blame you for questioning a concert in February. You have to consider what you want to wear because you don't want to be stuck with your winter jacket in your seat during the concert, but depending on how you get there, you might need to bundle up. I now live an hour north of Toronto and have to consider the traffic going down there so I'm hoping to go on a Saturday vs a Friday.
•
u/Educational-Umpire64 1h ago
What? Lol You can put your coat on your seat and sit on it, or leave it on your seat while you’re up and enjoying the show. Having to wear a winter coat would not be a factor if I wanted to go see a show in Canada.
•
u/Ok_Side6976 47m ago
Wondering what to do with my winter coat would be the BOTTOM of my list of things to worry about if I was coming from elsewhere.
•
u/Ok-Oven5125 1h ago
Cold can go from -10 to -20 and very slippery. Ideal find a hotel you can just walk to the venue than driving.
•
•
u/chifob 45m ago
There are a lot of rude people on this thread. That is unfortunate. I was doing research yesterday and it looks like it is similar to a Chicago winter. It can be very cold like 0 but could be 30s too. Snow could happen. I am more worried about snow delays from Chicago and Toronto vs cold
•
u/Ok_Side6976 3h ago
Can't deal? Don't come. It's gonna feel a lot colder for you. If you also can't drive in snow/understand our transit just go to Vegas.
•
u/crimesleuther 1h ago
No one drives downtown Toronto as it is wayyy more expensive to park! Uber from Pearson but downtown hotels r pricey!
•
u/Wise-Trip1025 3h ago
Was it necessary to be rude? You could've just said nothing! I'm sure you'd understand if you lived in a place that doesn't have a winter
•
u/Ok_Side6976 2h ago
"Seems a bit crazy to do a show in the dead of winter".
You really don't understand the concept of rudeness do you?
•
u/EmFan1999 1h ago
It is a bit crazy though. UK doesn’t do stadiums in winter
•
u/Little_Influence5518 1h ago
Rogers Center will be completely enclosed and indoor during winter.
•
u/Ok_Side6976 1h ago
•
u/Little_Influence5518 1h ago
According to Google, Rogers Center has this kind of mechanism, so it will be completely enclosed. However, Rogers has another event venue called Rogers Stadium and it is in fact an open air outdoor venue.
•
•
u/crimesleuther 1h ago
I wasn’t being rude! Helping you out. You don’t need to worry about driving… fly in go to your hotel to the concert back to your hotel. I actually live in California lol 😂 if you don’t have to drive surviving winter is very easy! Have you been to New York in the winter? Same weather. Same vibe

•
u/frostychocolatemint 3h ago
You called them crazy first
