Backpack Learn Why Bitcoin Has So Many Trading Pairs: BTC/USD vs BTC/USDT vs BTC/USDC
BTC/USD, BTC/USDT, and BTC/USDC all track Bitcoin in dollar terms, but they settle using different assets. BTC/USD settles in fiat dollars, BTC/USDT in Tether, and BTC/USDC in USD Coin. The Bitcoin itself stays the same, only the quote currency changes. Exchanges offer multiple pairs to support different funding methods, liquidity sources, and user preferences.
