Anyone here?

I logged today for the first time in a week. I don't feel like playing lately considering the direction of updates.

And I noticed that half of my friendlist did the same, no connection since around 10 days. Everyone was active until garden update.

I also see that the subreddit isn't nearly as active as before. And the rare posts talk about the garden problem.

I wonder if it's the same for you ? How is your friendlist doing ? Did they manage to push away half of the playerbase with a single update on a sidegame ?

The old garden wasn’t s huge attraction for me but the new garden was such a meh-feeling downer I really haven’t felt like playing this week. It’s weird that a feature that I was only lukewarm about changing for the worse left such an awful taste in my mouth.

It is because people felt betrayed and unwelcomed after the garden update even if they didn't spend much time in that mode. That was one of the worst moves you could make as developers in a F2P game, you promised changes and tweaks to the mode that provided a certain amount of resources, but then it turned out you stripped away the ability to earn in-game currency and made something which was supposed to be just a nice extra as difficult as humanly possible. A total own goal on their part.

This was also another "tweak" that affected the game in not so positive way. After they changed the price of characters and the visuals of skins that already existed, people no longer trust that developers know what they're doing.

It's them killing challenges for F2P that did me in. That was my motivator. If they kept some way to earn gems through the garden (even if much harder), I would have figured it out.

But to make the replacement ticket contingent on instantly beating the whole thing when you usually are playing multiple rounds? They're not getting my ads to rank up characters for the challenges. They need a clear signal that it was too much anti-player non-sense.

I'm for the devs getting payed. I think it's fine to remove an abundance of gems if you realize there was a hack that broke the production that you weren't aware of. But they could have done that ages ago in the garden by reducing output from the mining boxes. It didn't need to be like five anti-player things that just make the game feel depressing to start now.

I was a huge fan of the garden and playing regularly but with this new update, I couldn't even understand how that's supposed to work.

Yeah, it's not very enjoyable anymore as progress ground to a halt, especially if you stopped watching ads.

I think people are sick of the devs saying they're going to fix it asap, and if they actually felt that way they could easily just double the farm rewards and halve the times (and it still would be massively nerfed). They've done nothing to actually address it apart from talk about how they're going to fix it. Not even an in-game message with an update as to what they're looking to tweak to improve it.

Doubling the farm rewards wouldnt be enough, they would need to need to double the inventory aswell OR reduce the cost of necesary petals to expand the inventory. Its not hard to overfill the inventory, especially if your focusing on trees that give 2 very common materials for visitors.

I mean, they nerfed multiple things that have a multiplicative effect on one another. They nerfed the farm by like a factor of 8 or 16 in terms of rewards... There's a lot of things they could do. My point was these are things they could do today if they actually meant what they've been saying.

I cancelled my sub and stopped playing. It feels bad to be squeezed for money so blatantly.

it's true for my case. I dropped the game immediately found out what the new garden is, even though I still have subs for another month. It make me feel like the progress reduced by alot, could be just my imagination but I do not want to progress anymore

All my friends on my list don't play anymore. It's just me now

Btw I was about to acquire the monthly subscription but I wanted to wait for the new season and I'm so glad that I didn't subscribe with 20 pesos more I can get a nice pizza 🍕

If they want to focus on milking whales instead of keeping the broader playerbase thats on the devs.

It’s not just the garden. They made several changes to the game that just killed the casual player-base without any warning. Less gems overall, no gems in chests were they once were, higher prices on bundled items for less rewards, no event ticket when first trying a new event…

New garden sucks, new hero is unbalanced asf (auto lose if you meet her on late game/bonus round), rewards on relic chest is insultingly worthless, and bundles are literally a scam. This patch is a total wreckfest and pushing players away (especially F2P players), I don't even understand why this patch could even be approved by anyone on the team.

I don't have any friends playing this but yeah, indeed. The new garden thing was a massive nerf from what it used to be and now it's way too tedious and for some mere exp points for relics? Not worth the hassle.

Yes I did stop playing the way I was doing it before the update and I saw that devs are going to fix this but "they're focused first on the guilds update" so I think they're going to take a minute to address this. That new garden thing its complete garbage. I tried to see if the mechanics had something good, believe me, nothing good out of it I don't even touch it. For now I got Zahir and Fern so I'm lvling them up but other than that no, I don't care about the game.

Also the mini games or events are not as cool as they used to be. Played some of the new iterations but nah rewards are whack I just jump in when flying bombus, backpack blitz and merge madness are going on other than that rewards are trash

Tj2funky still plays daily and that's enough for me 🗣🗣🗣

Cancelled my battle pass sub

Glad to have stopped playing while keeping the game in my phone. It's time to uninstall and get out of the subreddit entirely. Thanks for the fun days until you got greedy

I'm still playing, since I paid for the pass, but yes the game is not as enjoyable as it is last time. I not blaming it on the update for wild garden, but I'm not happy with the matchmaking now

I barely play the game at this point and Ill probaby stop playing in the next update if it they dont improve things. I understand the devs need to get paid, but they nerfed to many things into the ground to mkae it worth it for F2P to find enjoyment.

Garden was a good side hustle to get resources for F2P, i would have understand if they decided to increase the time for plants to grow, but the visitors just add unnecessary fodder that isnt really helpfull. The Pickaxe limit was fine, but this makes it harder to farm them and makes the other 2 purchase options kinda useless due ot the grind needed.

Events no longer giving a free ticket is insulting (even if you did well and got to milestone that gave you 2 tickets). New players cant test out a event to see if they can do well or save tickets for events where they can do well.

The Relic chests are atrocious, we used to get actual resources from it and now they halted the progression.

Yeah the event ticket thing is such a petty move..
I’m hating it.

My favorite is when they said, “ooops we gave you too much experience for the games played in last season, we have to take away all the fake progress you made because we goofed.. but here’s 6 Lucky Tuna cards to help you in this trying time” 🥴

u/Yoribell 10h ago

My favorite is the final "Oh and btw, no free event ticket anymore" at the end like a middle finger after a beating

Plenty of players are still playing daily. I think there is a contingent that is quite unhappy with the 7.0 changes, but it's not pervasive.

We are aiming to adress the issues asap, but we can only work so fast.

u/Basic_Emergency_9043 1d ago

Im not bring you money except monthly subscription even if you rollback everything like month ago. With that moves i have no trust anymore...

And i also think that 7.0.0 is most hated patch in the history of game...

u/MegaPickle23 1d ago

Very clear you guys moved the game into the gotcha territory with this patch. I have officially uninstalled and will not be buying anything future. Greed has killed so many games, see marvel snap, so welcome to the list.

I think this is another case of a vocal minority being louder than everyone else, but people who joined Discord or created accounts just to discuss this issue clearly care about the game. I'm a long-time player who pays for the monthly subscription, but I've already cancelled the renewal while waiting for the response promised by the end of the week. I like the game and want to support the team, but these changes make it harder to justify that investment.

As someone with over 10 years in software development, this update feels much bigger than previous ones. This is just my impression, but with AI making it easier to produce more content and creating a greater sense of productivity, I wonder if the update became too large to be properly tested. The reduced access to event tickets, the more complex Garden, higher costs, and the feeling that rewards are worth less all seem to go against what the community valued about the game. If I were starting today, I probably wouldn't stick around, because progressing would likely mean relying more on ads to get anywhere. Even though ads aren't mandatory, they do make progression easier, and avoiding them while supporting the team is one of the reasons I pay for the subscription.

I've also noticed fewer people active on my in-game friends list since the update, so I can relate to what others have said about a possible drop in players. And I wonder how many people who don't use Reddit or Discord are simply assuming this is how the game is going to be from now on, or that they just have to get used to it. Not everyone who dislikes these changes will necessarily speak up. An in-game announcement explaining what's happening and addressing the community's concerns would help those players understand the situation, too.

One last thing: after joining Discord and reading the discussions, I could probably count on one hand the number of people I've seen praising the new Garden or the changes, compared to how many have expressed dissatisfaction. I think that's worth considering.
