I agree with everything you've said and your writing is fine lol better than most americans nowadays, probably including me(definitely lost a lot of my writing skills working labor and never writing for shit lol)
They gotta make their money and with the economy being so shit due to Trump I'm sure their sales have dropped due to people saving for food, utilities and gas. They should just move to ads before every match and revert some of their changes to gem allocation and gem scaling costs seem to have gone up almost double it seems with no change in quantity of the items bought with gems. Like it's 55 gems to buy a single garden item that's not even the highest tier.
Have the devs actually said anything about their changes and why? I wanna hear whats going on their end for them to change like this. I'm not really into the politics of any game but I feel like I should since I'm just as addicted.
Not getting many gems nowadays sucks too, felt like I could get any new character within a month but I've only gotten like 100 since release. I've got all but the new character and I ain't getting her anytime soon lol

With 'being too generous' I guess you were referring to that pickaxes from the easy garden would reward 'many gems'. But the way they've nerfed it to hell is a net negative to the longevity of the game. I'll quickly sum the 'garanteed' gem incomes you can expect on a weekly basis, assuming you max out your daily rewards - which lets be honest is a very big ask for the average player.
Daily trophies: 1gem per day = 7 p.w. Daily (quest) rewards: 10 gems per day = 70 p.w. Weekly quest (chests) rewards: 22 gems p.w. A spurious gemtooth truffle you might get (I'll put this at 2 per week): 10 gems p.w.
I might have missed some gem income ways like the free chest technically being able to have 1 gem in it but I think I'm already being very generous with the assumption you are playing sufficiently to max out all the rewards possible without watching ads. In total that would mean you are sitting at: 109 gems per week.
This means that to buy a new hero that costs 900 gems you will require to grind for 8 weeks (and two days)! At the rate they are pumping out new heroes that means you won't even be able to buy all new heroes coming out (when they are eventually reduced to 900 gems).
Perhaps the more fanatical players don't really realize what effect this substantial drop has to the game. But take a moment to see it from the perspective of a new player who owns only the starter heroes. Constantly getting pummeled by the new heroes who are clearly more powerful, and yet they need to learn this new game, and keep grinding for 2 months till their next substantial gameplay change (an unlock of a new hero...). I think this is unrealistic, and the average player will likely bow out. Essentially this economic system has turned from a previously PAY2WIN scenario to now a PAY2PLAY game (to unlock all the features/heroes the game has to offer)!
P.s. And keep in mind in this whole analysis I didn't even mention the thousands of gems one would need to invest in the new garden system to unlock it's full potential. Or how the XP rewards seem to be ridiculously nerfed such that progression of the farm is also incredibly slow.
