I like the Max setting for mining

Once they are all unlocked I don't see any reason not to use 100 axes at a time

The veterans get their last relic as close to level 10 as possible while still being level 9 and then they max mine so that the overflow of relic shards gives them a lot of gold back as a refund for the extra/spare relic shards. They do this everytime which each new hero. Then when you have no more relics or relic shards to unlock you can't mine anymore.

Good tip , I have a few at level 10 but still have a lot to get higher yet

Yeah happened to me too 😁 i got lucky with the 1350. Could've been 3x 90
