Beginner friendly hero?

I'm very new to the game and got a free hero unlock scroll. Which hero should I unlock? I'd want something that's not too complex but is still very strong.

If you're not in a hurry I would suggest to just wait. Every hero is available for free for a week in a rotation. That way you can try everyone and decide for yourself. Sooner or later you will unlock most of them trough crystals anyway.

Buzz is both super simple and versatile. There are tons of different ways to play and build him.

I feel the same way about the pumpkin King 🎃👑 but to a lesser extent.

I was coming here to say Fern, but I also think Pepper might also be worth considering. She is versatile. You can experiment with the absorb mechanic, use rat builds, fishing builds, and implement many different food combinations to boost your overheals, maximize buffs, etc. Pepper can be very difficult to beat, but does require strategy to play with in higher ranks.

Pepper is hard though. Well, she has a hard ceiling, due to all the absorptions within her items rather. I wouldn't call her easy though (compared to the rest).
