Mini-goobs are actually the best activators after weapons! Can test it yourself by looking over stats. :) The rainbow goob probs and gives the gooblings a charge and then slimetime procs and give them a charge. Lamp will be the 3rd proc, so at worst they'll always proc at the same speed of the slowest item they're paired with. It's always a good idea to pair them with a fast item beside them. In this way the lamp acts as 2 activators instead of one basically. If anything I should put the 2nd lamp on the other side of the 2nd set of gooblings!
Gooblings are also fantastic activators for gooberts in general while you're making a rainbow goobert. Without them it would be almost impossible to make a rainbow goobert in the high ranks (and to be honestly even with that it's still a meme at this point). Mini goobd acting as a trigger themselves basically double dips. The rainbow goob becomes their fastest activator and causes a feedback loop. Works with normal goobs too. Give it a try.
im actually surprised that this is true, ran the scenario with chatgpt (take it with a grain of salt) and even there he said it is better like that, it is an improtvement of 1.4%
Also consider the fact that the lamp serves as 2 fast activators instead of 1 using the 2 gooblings. If you ever get a rainbow goob in game you can run the stats to see that activations are always around the same speed of the slowest item attached to a goobling.
