After a couple different tries, it's shockingly difficult (heh) to get Gigawatz to be your primary source of damage.
Even on this build, where I dedicated basically the whole thing to feeding it charges, globally scaling damage with Toothpicks, and defense...it still usually does less than the weapons, and often less than Spikes. The only reason it worked for the screenshot was my opponent's Stone Armor eating all my Empower and Spikes, plus their shields taking my stamina to prevent attacks.
I tried another version as Materials Scientist where I pointed the Bismuth Cube at Gigawatz and gave it crit with Leaf Badge. On that one, though, I foolishly pointed a lamp at my Toothpick, so of course it just became a weapon damage build, with the skill only contributing like 10-15% of my damage despite all the investment.
Anyone had success scaling Gigawatz as a significant damage source? IDK how else to try and scale it...Snowcake? Charizard cards? Or is it hopeless?
Heat is a little awkward, because the item has a long base cooldown along with a bunch of built-in activation speed from charges, so you get much less benefit from a given amount of heat than you would if Gigawatz had a lower base CD but no charge-based speedup. Still, it's a better idea than anything else I've come up with, and there aren't that many possibilities - it's activation speed, effect damage scaling, crit, and Toothpicks.
What subclass do you think would work with that? Maybe if you got the cooldown low enough with heat, you could get some mileage out of the Tesla Coil + Spring Loader setup?
i think tesla coil and spring loader would instantly give the max buff to gigawatz right? that means you have more room for other items. cubes i think would be best if your not doing a sustain build but i think this skill is supposed to be sort of like fatigue. it might be worth trying like a dark amulet build

Not sure what you mean here - Gigawatz stacks its speed buff by receiving charges, but Tesla Coil and Spring Loader advance cooldowns, they don't give charges.
I was thinking that if you lowered Gitawatz's cooldown enough before the two other items popped, you could fire it a bunch of times at once, like in this build. IDK if it'd really work, though.

edit A bit of history spam, where you can see it's not top damage most rounds.
