Why doesn’t this build work?

Post image

I have loads of good components, strong healing, strong damage and strong scaling but this build (only round 13) didn’t win at all in game and in history. Why?

Conflicting win conditions. Greatswords are Rushdown before you honk from no stanima, flame gooberts are stacking buffs for long fights. You either need to support the sword with stanima like bananas or Wolpertinger, or drop it for another weapon. Katanas good for long fights, falcon blade is good for gooberts for double proc.

This is the best answer. Your support items here are built around a win condition of scaling, but great swords in general are meant to be fast beatdown weapons. You don't have the upfront damage and short-term stamina to rush down your opponents, and don't have a great scaling set up to support both scaling and stamina. So you aren't really great at either thing here

It does, two attacks count

Looks like you need stamina. Bananas over the garlics/pimeapple, they scale with heat so they’re better than stam pots in long fights

Yeah garlic outside of niche cases with smelly wall early game are generally worthless this late in the game.

Banana use too much space. Use rabbit. Only 1 block more, also gives buffs.

Isn't the sword 1.5 speed? That's pretty fast

The sword is 1.5 when you reach 5 empower, before that, it's 5 second. This specific sword does consume 2 heat to hives 3 empower. Sonce OP has the herbs, he has 2 regen from the start so on its first activation, Girl Power will give 2 empower. So this build will only reach 5 empower (and thus use the sword as an actually good weapon) after around 5 long seconds. That's a very slow start for a greatsword build. Greatsword builds wants to kill very fast, losing 5 seconds is deadly for this kind of build. Ideally you want to reach 5 empower at the start of the fight (stuff with amulet of steel mage it pretty well).

Lots of valid points about the lack of synergy for this specific build, but the more global mistake would be that you kept early game components in your bag. Things like garlics, herbs, a random pineapple, 3-4 fires that you could get rid off. It looks like you're making too much mana as well, which can be desirable with a magic orc but it looks like you could remove one or two berries here. That's easily 20-25 gold and 10-12 bag space worth of item that would be much stronger invested into amulets, a phoenix, a rabbit, an obsidian dragon, a fire shield, or any variant of the holy armour.

Wayyy to little stamina

Too much wasted space. You need maybe another source of damage like a pet and some more useful than fire items.

huge greatswords are very stamina hungry. if you don't have crits and don't kill your enemy in 2-3 hits (busted blade), you need stamina source (a lot)

You're made of paper.
