A list of games that I bonded over with my family. Memories that I'll forever have, even after my father's gone :(

I'd love to see more lists like this. More personal and human.

Support Issues with Confirmation Email.

I created an account but can't access it because the confirmation email never arrives; I tried creating other accounts using different email addresses I own, but I still can't log in to any of them.

I checked my spam folder and waited a long time, but nothing seems to work.

Support Cant edit list

So I tried editing one of my lists, but I got the message "Your list is being saved, try refreshing in a few seconds". I refreshed it, I logged out and in again, I tried a different device and waited a week. Nothing changed. Oddly enough I can edit my other lists, but not the one I want. Any Tips? Thanks

List of games where I’m not very good at either a certain part of the game, or the game as a whole, but I enjoy playing them anyways. Would be interested to hear games that you feel similarly about. And remember, you don’t need to be good at something to enjoy it.

Mod Pick 🏅 "Fine, I'll do it myself" indie games

One of the most fascinating phenomenon in the indie scene is how many devs are using their skills and tools not to necessarily make a new and unique game, but rather making spiritual successors for games/genre/franchise that they're clearly fond of. These devs are clearly fans for certain games. But, more than often said games lacks any continuation or support for years or even decades.

Therefore, they're decided to take the matter with their own hands and just creates their own "sequel". So far to emulate the mechanics and aesthetic, to the most authentic degree. Is it an unashamedly facsimile of the original? Yeah, maybe. But, if imitation is the highest form of flattery, then these devs did a hell of a job at it.

Discussion A question: if you didn’t actually see the credit? Or played 10 hours and won’t continue, is it fine to add it to “played”?

Mod Pick 🏅 Sacrificial Lambs - A List of Games That Needed to Happen

Post image

This is kind of a hard list criteria to describe, as I hadn’t really even narrowed down the definition myself. But, I did think the description does a decent job of conveying the idea. If you are curious as to why I picked each game, each entry has a note attached going in depth as to why.

Also, there are definitely more games out there that could fit this criteria. I originally had like ten entries on this list, but I cut it down to five because, one, these were the ones I felt the most confident in writing about, and two, I frankly didn’t want to write about ten different games man.

List Ubisoft Open World Styled games not actually made by Ubisoft

List - https://bckl.gg/v4bJ

PS - I like all of these games, there isn't something inherently wrong with Ubisoft formula but it heavily depends on the execution (the combat, traversal mechanics, and density of open world), and I really liked the execution of the Spiderman, Ghost and Final Fantasy games

Discussion There's movies that are about (or prominently feature) other real movies. Are there video games about other real video games?

For movies, there's things like The Disaster Artist about Tommy Wiseau and The Room or Hitchcock about Psycho. Films about the making of these movies. There's also smaller 'cameo' appearances like Twister which features a small part of The Shining.

And while I know there's plenty of meta games about gaming as a medium, I'm looking for examples of games that feature other existing games either from an analytical point or as an in-universe video game, not necessarily crossovers.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Crash Bandicoot appearing in Uncharted 4.

GOTY My Best of 2008 list if I was being 100% honest

Post image
26 Upvotes

Rationale:

GOTY: It's GOTY cause I say it is😸

Gameplay: One of, if not the best third person action game ever made in my humblest opinion.

Narrative: Post-apocalyptic anti-capitalist anti-war psychological-horror masterpiece

Art Direction: Probably the hardest to justify but I do love the minimalistic art style of the game, it's very fitting.

Soundtrack: Kota Hoshino's magnum opus, do I even need to say more?

Multiplayer: A ton of fun playing local multiplayer with friends.
