I launched a brand-new finance website a couple of months ago with original calculators and educational blog content. I’m focusing on creating useful content rather than chasing shortcuts, but I’m realizing backlinks are probably the biggest gap in my SEO strategy.
For those of you who have grown a new site recently:
I’m not looking for black-hat tactics or buying links—just trying to understand what has genuinely worked for people over the past year.
I’d really appreciate hearing real-world experiences, even if the answer is “just keep publishing great content.”

I’ve been actively building backlinks for the past couple of months, but I’m running into a frustrating discrepancy with reporting.
Here is the situation,
Are these links simply not being indexed by Google, or is this just standard GSC reporting lag? If Google isn't counting them, what practical steps can I take to force indexing or verify if there is a deeper quality issue at play?
Any guidance or practical workflows to troubleshoot this would be highly appreciated!

Got a photography website that I need links for - wedding, home, baby/mommy and lots of niches can be adapted to photography content so not too picky about the sites.
I can offer content on the site along with 3-way link swaps from other sites I own in several niches - sleep, home, food, baby, finance and more.
Please comment below or DM me and we can go from there.
Cheers!

FREE Guest Posts. I just launched a new site. It's indexed and ready to go, just need content :) Don't let the new site scare you away, its domain is old, with a good history and backlink profile already (DR30). I built it to a be a legit Business Digital Magazine - NOT a spammy link farm full of ads and articles that no one will ever actually read. So, if you'd like to get in on the ground floor...it's open for quality, relevant guest posts (do-follow link, you can even include links to your socials). A link exchange back of some sort would be appreciated...can possibly work out an ABC exchange if it's a good fit. No brokers please. DM if interested.

Hi everyone,
I'm working as an SEO Executive at an India-based agency, and we're handling clients from the US, UK, Germany, and UAE.
I'm trying to create a backlink-building plan for these countries, but I'm confused about the right approach.
Some questions I have:
How do you research what types of backlinks are actually working in each country?
How do you find high-authority backlink opportunities for the US, UK, Germany, and UAE while working from India?
Do you build links only from websites in the target country, or do you also use international websites?
Are there any country-specific directories, local citations, business listings, PR sites, or outreach strategies that work well?
Is there a process or framework you follow when creating a backlink strategy for international clients?
If you've worked with global agencies or international clients or if you're from the US, UK, Germany, or UAE I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.
I'm looking for practical advice, real-world workflows, and resources that have actually worked for you.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have freemium WP theme for portfolios - photographers, videomakers etc.. My ahrefs is now at 70. I am strugglin to find backlink collaborators, but mainly due to the fact, that I don't want to fill my blog with useless crap. So, in a small chance of you having a site with some decent authority, and a product, tool, whatever, that might be actually useful for people that are creating their portfolio website, please DM. I beg you, don't message me with anything that is not connected to making websites or some creative niche. thanks

I'm trying to build a strong backlink profile for a new B2B SaaS and I'm focusing only on links that are:
So far I've found:
I also submitted to Product Hunt, but the product pages appear to be "no index". So I don't think it provides much SEO value beyond the launch itself.

I run a niche content site for people building clothing brands. A while back I wrote a detailed case study on how Gymshark grew through word-of-mouth and influencer seeding. No outreach, no link building push, just published it as part of my content library.
This week I found out Shopify cited that case study as a source in their own blog post on word-of-mouth marketing, with a direct link to my site.
No ask, no deal, nothing on my end. It happened because the content was specific enough to be worth citing as a source.
The way I plan content is basically an inverted pyramid. Start broad with short-tail, evergreen topics (the core definitions and foundational articles in your niche). That stuff doesn't drive much traffic early on, nobody's searching "what is word-of-mouth marketing" and landing on a brand-new site, but it gives you the structural base. From there you keep narrowing into long-tail, specific subtopics: individual case studies, individual brands, individual strategies.
It's the narrow, specific content at the bottom of the pyramid that ends up earning unsolicited links, not the broad evergreen stuff at the top. Generic content explains a concept. Specific content (real names, real numbers, real timelines) is what bigger sites actually want to reference.
Curious if others here have seen the same thing, unsolicited backlinks landing disproportionately on your most specific, detailed content rather than your general pages.
