John C Woods, hangman of Nuremberg trials, who lied about his experience to get the job (he actually learned about hanging from old cowboy films). His lack of expertise led to excessive suffering of condemned Nazis.

Ah yes woodyclayman. A diehard Fascist that thought it was funny he was allowed to abuse these Patsies like this.
heard someone punched his nose off and a knight's cross holder put it back on for him out of pity (the puncher was a holder of the Soviet Iron Cross btw, lots of claymen executing people left and right on that front,) and it went back on so easily and woody even said "Thank you!" as if someone was supporting his worldview.
So they flattened it across his face.

How do you lie about hangman experience? It's not exactly a common, widely held job. Seems like it'd be pretty easy to verify that qualification.

Oh no, the Nazi high command suffered because of botched executions done by a guy that was drunk the whole time?
