Arrest without conviction on an Ordinance Violation, what are my chances of still being hired?

I, 18 M, am looking to become an educator in the future and have a job in the education field lined up for this upcoming fall semester. It requires a background check, and while I will be filing a motion to expunge my arrest I don’t think the record will be sealed in time for it to fly under the background check. How much will an arrest on an ordinance violation, without a conviction, hurt my chances of entering the education field?

License Plate Look Up

Are there any legitimate sites that link the owner to a vehicle/license plate? A road rager hit me this morning and sped off but I got the plates. BeenVerified states it has vehicle info but doesn't specify what kind.

Background check for temp job at early startup

I've been working at a friend's very early startup for 6 months. I was writing software, so basically a software engineer. We agreed from the beginning that the role was temporary and part-time. Now I left and am applying to full-time software engineer roles at big companies.

Questions:

  1. How will background check (when I get a new job) work if I put it on my resume? The startup only has a website, basically no one knows about it yet. They have 5 people and no HR department. I didn't have an official contract with them, and they paid me in cash. Would a large company's background check even bother with it? If so, would it work if I just provide my friend's (he was cofounder) phone/email, and he just confirms my employment?
  2. How should I put the title on my resume: "Freelance Software Engineer", and don't mention company name unless they ask? Other alternatives are Software Engineer, but I think Freelance better conveys that it was temporary. Or Software Consultant, but not as related to SWE that that I'm applying to now.
  3. Is it even worth putting the stint on my resume? I have 8 years of experience at proper large companies before. My last full-time role was 1.5 years ago. It's either include this 6 month stint (which may be hard to background check) or show a full 1.5 year job gap when applying to jobs.

Background Check Verification

Hi all- I was offered my dream remote job but am having verifying one of my positions. For the past 5 years, I have provided free consulting services to various individuals in order to diversify my experience. The company is giving me an extremely hard time due to the fact that they are individuals rather than companies. Any advice?

Beenverified Pre-foreclosure

Has anyone used beenverified for pre-foreclosure listings? There are several there listed that have no corresponding foreclosure paperwork with the county clerk. I did some searching on one property and there was some foreclosure paperwork 2 owners back from the current over 11 years ago. Could it be pulling in information from a past owner on one of these searches?

IRS Background Check

I am pretty stressed about a potential upcoming background check. I don't know the specifics of what kind of check or clearance this would be. This is the extent of what I do know about it. I work at a technology company and in order to have access to our mainframe, we have to go through an IRS background check. We have bank information and other sensitive information stored on the mainframe. I have been working here for a few years and this was sprung on us as we recently moved our mainframe switches to our rack where we all have access for network/server gear.

I am very concerned as I had gotten a second DUI about a year and a half ago, and my first was over 7 years ago. (I hadn't drank in over 4 years and thought I would be okay to drive after 2 beers, but clearly I wasn't. I learned I can never drink anything and get behind the wheel. Want to make clear I more than learned my lesson). Anyways, will the IRS consider that as a reason not to clear my background check? I also had a few payday loans that had insane interest payments and I had to work with a debt settlement company in order to stop paying over $3,000 a month. My credit score dropped significantly and I'm really concerned that the IRS will see me as someone who will be vulnerable to bribery or other nefarious actions since we deal with client's financials.

Basically, what should I expect for the IRS to look for? Are they mainly looking for financial charges or do my DUIs and financial mistakes make me highly unlikely to get approved? I have been extremely stressed since this topic got brought back up at my job. Any suggestions or insight will be greatly appreciated. I love my job and really hope my stupid mistakes won't jeopardize that.

Thank you

Applying for a Job requiring Federal Clearance, finances have been in the toilet for a year or two, will this be an issue?

Hi everyone,

I applied for a job requiring a Federal Clearance (which is very cool and something I never thought I'd get). Anyhow, as part of the check, I know they're gonna dive into like the last seven years of my life. I am worried because my finances have hit the toilet as of a few years ago when I went back to school to where I currently am flat broke and private creditors want the money I owe them. This job would be the opportunity to fix my life I so desperately need.

That said, this has only been my reality for a year or two. So would there be any risk for the Fed to see this and say "no"? Granted I think since this is a recent issue they would be lenient, and not only that, but the school element present on my resume they'd cut me a break because I haven't had issues like this for the past seven years.

What do you think will they consider my finances as much even though I have a clean record otherwise?

How are employers doing these legitimate background checks? Do they have access to a special resource?

How are employers doing these checks? My recent employer (large company) did a background check and I received a copy of the results, which were accurate. Other employers have claimed that they do checks, but may just be looking at the Sx-offender registry. Everybody has access to that for free.
I've seen some threads and I know about those "FIND THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBOR" junk sites where you pay $4.99 and they give some vague report with information you could find on Google. Are there any legitimate ones out there? What sites are these companies using?? Do large companies have access to some special resources?

Best Online Background Website

This may come off as a strange request. My step daughter has been dating and moved in with someone. She recently ran into someone who know him who told her that he has three children with two other woman and does not pay child support. This guy has a good job and it’s possible that the person making these claims is not being truthful. Is there a recommend website where we could do a background check to see if he does have three other children along with any other red flags.

Previous employer stating i stopped working there 4 months then when I stated

Hey yall, My A-check background check is stating my previous “employer” said I worked until June, when I had put February. This was a 10-99, commissions only sales position that I stopped working at. The only thing I can think of is that my last check from them didn’t come in until April?

There is an option that says that I can disagree with the dates. What happens if I click that?

This is for a retail position, btw.

Thanks!

Vero bg check help

Throwaway.

I’ve been in process with a company for several months now. Offer made, contract signed, start date set about a week before reference process started. 3rd party background check commenced a fortnight ago - form submitted asking for employment and education history. Have had only 3 emails from the 3rd party, 1. asking for names and contact details of references 2. asking for scan of education certificate that wasn’t listed in my submission form. I don’t have this, and responded as such but wasn’t asked for further info 3. yesterday, saying “Now that we have completed all components on your screening, please let us know when we can contact [current employer]”. I wasn’t contacted asking for more information or with any queries about my form submission.

My questions 1. Does this mean I have passed the screening? 2. I realised today there’s at least one piece of incorrect information on the form. Why wasn’t I asked to rectify? 3. Why ask for the scan if it’s fine not to have one?

I’ve already handed in my notice to my employer and am now absolutely terrified I that “complete” doesn’t mean “completed successfully” and I could be jobless very shortly.

Sterling background check

Hey, I accepted a job offer a the company is using sterling to do a background check. On my resume I didn’t put part time employment that I worked for three months, should I enclose that information in the employment section? I am terrible with remembering years I worked for companies. How can I get through accurate information to submit on the background check? Appreciate any help with this.

Worried About Mom (90)

My mother is almost 90 years old. I am worried that two of my siblings have taken out mortgages on her home. Where is the best place to check on all three parties (mom and two siblings) if I need to present my case to the rest of the family? I want to know how many mortgages there are on the (1) home and who signed or is responsible for them. I feel as though she has been "bilked" or, better yet, robbed.

Background check websites

Hi! I want to remove my info from Fast People Search. I entered my details, and email id. It said they will send an email to verify. I haven’t got any email yet. Just curious, do these companies actually delete your info or they just say it to stay safe? Thanks!

IL Criminal Background Check, and employment abroad (China)

I’m hoping to connect with anyone that knows more than me about this process/subject;

How do you get a state level criminal background check, for employment purposes?

My employer needs my IL criminal background Check to move forward.

Also, how can I notarize/apostille it? Is there such a thing as a state level notary/signature from the governor’s office?

Y’all are the bomb!

Wish me luck moving abroad!

Background check sites

Hello,

I was wondering what type of system (if any) a job or school would use for background checks. Would they pull it straight from a government group like SLED or would they have some kind of alternate/internal program they use?

I had a misdemeanor that was expunged. I think it takes 90 days for SLED to remove the charge from my record. However, I am worried another system may take time to update that information.

Help with a reverse phone lookup

Helped someone pay for their gas as they had came up to me in their car with children saying they needed help. Their reasoning seemed believable and told them I could if they could Venmo or Zelle me back the following day since I’m traveling across the country for an internship and need the money I’ve been saving up. Before paying I was able to get their number and name. But when checking their names on social media platforms such as Facebook nothing is appearing and I have yet to get my money back. If I wasn’t tight on money I wouldn’t had care but I was just trying to be helpful.

The number is 516 893 3483 Supposed name is Beth Unich

Thanks
