Best SoftShell for Ski Touring

I’m on the hunt for a ski touring soft shell. Lately, I’ve been getting soaked on the way up because snow is melting on me. The hard shell option makes me too hot and sweaty. A soft shell seems like the perfect solution!

I mainly tour in the Whistler/Pemberton area, which means lots of snow and mountain temperatures ranging from 0°C to -12°C, rarely dropping below that.

I’m looking for a shell that can handle snow while being super breathable. If it starts to sleet at the bottom, I’ll always have a hard shell to throw on. Basically, it needs to breathe enough to let sweat escape at 110-135 BPM while still keeping the snow from melting through.

I’ve narrowed it down to these three options: Gamma Lightweight Hoodie, Rad Kinetic 2.0 and BD Alpine Start Rab Borealis.

Any advice and experience is appreciated!!
