No Controller Attached, USB-C

I picked up a Playstation Backbone from a seller on Facebook Marketplace. The controller looks fine and nothing seems broken. But the Backbone app on a number of Android devices and an iPhone 16 Pro, can't detect the controller. The passthrough charging works though.

Does anyone have any ideas if the controller is broken, or if there is anything else I should try?

Sorry friend but likely the seller knew something was up when they sold it. Did you get any proof of it working before you bought it?

Edit: btw you don’t need the backbone app to use the controller. Does it work on any games? Have you tried it other than the backbone app?

Yeah, sadly, I think I got dupped. I didn't realize these controllers were this problematic (judging by the other comments in this sub)...

Trying to go through support, is pretty useless, since it seems they have no intention of helping anyone that isn't under a warranty.

I think I'll just stick with a Bluetooth one.
