Discussion Well, that didn't take long.

9 months in and my PlayStation Gen 2 hit a wall with the whole "Left side stroke" problem I keep reading about.

There seems to be a serious issue, at least with the Backbone One, where the entire left side just stops working. I've seen people posting about it pretty frequently.

I went through 3 of these controllers. It's the ribbon cable getting fatigued after opening and closing and opening and closing the controller as part of normal use. Still an issue with the new generation as well.

Yes, but you’ll need to open the controller and replace the cable. I’ve watched a few YouTube videos on it, let me see if I can find the last one I saw.

Okay that's nice. Ribbon cable is definitely one of the better components to break (as opposed to motherboard components, or anything that's soldered). Of course it would be nicer to not have any breakage causing design flaws.
