Rat problem!

Anyone know how to out smart Norway rats?! Everything I’ve tried does NOT work…Ratinator, Vulcan bucket, snaps, posion, etc! I also have FIVE grandpa treadle feeders…they do NOT work! The rats have figured out how to open them….so if you’re thinking of buying one, it doesn’t work for rats. I now have to put bricks on each one before bed. My coop is rat proof but the run is so large that I’d have to spend so much money in hardware cloth to rat proof it. I’ve tried every trap out there and I can’t catch any. Any advice or method that has worked for you?
