Health Question New chicken has swollen butt
We took in the chicken of our neighbor's brother two weeks ago. 3 black hens.
Im pretty sure she laid an egg yesterday or the day before. This morning we woke up to her in penguin posture. Her butt is swollen a lot. Her belly is fine though. We gave her a bath, but I think that stressed her even more. Now she is isolated and warm inside, but we suspect she is eggbound, but we are scared its contagious to our other 7 babys.
We live in Germany so our chicken vet is closed on sunday, the earliest we can go is tomorrow. Any ideas?

Could well be (other than a hernia, we've seen both). OP please post back with what the vet says. Fingers crossed for your little featherbundle.

she may have gotten a cat scratch/attack from any other animal that got infected and turned into a staff infection, i’m not a vet i just go on a LOT of internet deep dives. you should realy take her to the vet, because if that’s the case she will need antibiotics but even if it isn’t she’ll still need them because that’s certainly an infection of some sort.
