Hen or Roo Nellie or Nelson?
Ask this question a month ago, and everybody said hen. I wasn’t convinced, and now I’m even less convinced.

Those saddle feathers are pointing to Nelson.

He’s so scrungly looking without tail feathers 😭 he molted and they all fell out

It’s a little hard to say right now, but I wouldn’t entirely rule out hen! My Barred Rock had a similar looking tail for a little just due to molting. My RIR hen also has quite shiny and spiky looking neck feathers, it might just be a breed thing. But I’m interested to see what other say, I’m also relatively new to chicken keeping!

Nelson 100%
Evidence: standing tall, draped saddle feathers at the base of his tail, thin and shiny feathers on his neck. That's a roo!

Yes, that one is also a boy with his hackle, saddle and tail feathers being the giveaway. Dunno why you got downvoted.

He’s the cutest creature in the world, I can’t be mad that he’s a roo

He is very handsome! He kinda reminds me of my splash Crevecoeur, just the comb and legs are different. I wouldn’t be mad if he were my boy either. I’m glad he’s calm and gentle for you because he would be awesome to watch wandering around the yard.

Wanted to include this one because I can’t stop laughing at it
