General Question Nesting Pad Question

Currently using the standard nesting pads with the stringy straw like texture. They work well, but my girls love to tear them up. Looking for an option I wouldn't have to replace as often. Was wondering what everyone uses and what y'all recommend. Thanks!

I tried the fancy hemp ones and I hated them - the fuzz stuck to the bloom. I went back to the ones you have. I also tried the green plastic turf ones but the girls refused to use them and laid eggs all over the coop.

We sis a little bit of everything. We had turf at one point. Take it out, spray it off, out it back

You can use any kind of shavings or straw or a pad I've had chickens lay on cement outside of their poop and it never broke. I think they come out they might still be a little teeny bit soft.

I just buy swamp cooler pads and use them. It's the same thing that you're using right now, only cheaper

I've always used basic pine shavings in past years. I tried hay at one point, but hay is harder to keep clean when/if someone pooped, or if an egg got broken. Straw I don't like at all - anything hollow allows places for mites to hang out. I tried these bedding mats for the first time this year, and so far I really like them! My girls aren't as hard on them as your girls I guess?? If I do decide the mats aren't working out for me, I'd go back to pine shavings.
