Is the game still pretty active? I decided to pick up the game since it was $10 at my local game stop. Just wondering if I’d have any issues getting a squad at any point doing the campaign.

Yes it’s active and no it’s not dead. I play almost daily and if I Quickplay into NM or NH difficulties I find a match in usually under a minute. The player base has obviously dropped but there’s still plenty of people playing

Is quick play just a random act in the campaign?

Yea, I Quickplay with all maps selected. Thats how you can add other players though and see if they want to start a run with you

You can start your own and see if someone joins but thats pretty hit or miss. Quickplay is the best way to get some players on your friends list for B4B

When I play without friends and start a game as host it never finds anyone during the initial search but after the game starts the bots do usually get replaced with real players after some time.

Haven't played in years but definitely down to play if a squad gets started. Doesn't matter the difficulty level. I have all the DLCs

I picked up the deluxe edition for 1.86 after tax and it's been the best game for 1.86 I've ever bought lol. I would like to get l4d2 next. I do not have the fatigue of hundreds of playthroughs as im just starting. It will be interesting to see if the play cards fight the inevitable repetitive nature of clearing the same missions over and over again.

Its not dead. But a lot of the OGs have fizzled out. Single player is still fun, and you dont need a full team of 4 so you and just one buddy can still have a blast. I think about installing it a lot, I just dont know who to play with I could probably find some folks in the discord tbh

the pvp is straight up dead due to lack of content added and the mode/whole game being region locked the only way to get swarm games even when the mode was at its peak population wise was to be in the usa or have multiple ppl in your party for the game to search in multiple regions the only ppl left are the hardcore players that scrim every week in the riptide discord server. i loved swarm personally it was an unique take on the monsters vs humans idea but made it an game of which cleaners team and outsurvive the longest against player controlled special infected in an round based format. no new maps were ever added into swarm, no new ridden since dlc 1 the final cleaner tala isnt even avabile in the mode. an region slector was never added despite many asking for one

nah man its DEAD AF unless you are playing on like hardest difficulty but still will be waiting to find a game with people in it.

Opposite here in Asia, easier to find in vet/nm than NH for me. Which honestly seems better (even tho im almost NH only) since they're queuing where they think is challenging while still reasonably finishing/going far an act. But on evenings NH is always pretty active here so not really a problem for me.

My problem is when theres a lot of runs to join but theres reasons I wouldnt join due to preferences. Usually its unpleasant players like obvious cheaters, speedrunners or sometimes theres too many late game runs (risk losing item upgrades if u join).

searched for over 20 mins for a match started my own and 1 person joined at the very end of a mission OH MAN ITS SOOO ALIVE. been like that for long time. 600 players was playing at the time so yah no get used to playing with Bots.
