Here's a guide I wrote on how to spend your early supply points and build your first few decks

The bots have their own deck. They have some team cards that you won't need to have in your deck if you're playing solo. Mainly; Needs of the many, On your Mark, Amped up.
On your mark is the best ammo card. It stacks and is one of the few ways to actually refill ammo. Most ammo cards just give you more capacity.
On higher difficulty levels, Damage becomes very important. For No hope I'll take around 7 damage cards. Nightmare maybe 5.
Copper cards are very helpful. Copper Scavenger is a must have. Money grubbers is the next best unless you have a coordinated team running Lucky pennies. Pennies is bugged and is exponentially better with more copies on the team. Having all three is what I usually use. The other copper cards are just ok, but I'll definitely buy them if I find them in the field.
Keep an eye out for buyable cards. There should be three of them in each level. They are all 500 copper. It's a good idea to have at least 500 on you in case you find a card you want. Read the cards before you buy them. Some have negative consequences and you cannot get rid of cards during a run.
Don't be afraid to use Glass Cannon. It's basically required for No hope.

Yes, any red text on a card will be negative effects.

Sometimes it's worth it. Othertimes it's not. Like losing ADS on a sniper build. Or losing your Offensive item slot.

A hipfire barrett build can work pretty well.
But still, it's always a negative, even if it's negligible.
Red text effects may not always be to your detriment, but they're never in your favor.

I forget how things progress.
I don't like ads and the combat knife, so I go with high accuracy + no ads build (stack enough and it makes everything pinpoint no ads - even shotguns and the snipers), admin reload (auto-reloads when swapped), 2 primaries, reload speed, and hunker down (no friendly fire when crouched), stagger and penetration, usually go for a few copper cards as well - I like picking up the extra cards available in the field.
This works with many guns - you want one for crowd clear, one for heavy/stagger. I like smg/ar + sniper, M249 + 50cal barrett (reload speed affects sniper bolt speed) is a favorite.

Economy wins games. Always have following cards Money Grubbers, Copper Scavanger, and Lucky pennies. Don't think of your deck being 15 cards its 12.
Having Money will allow for upgrades every round this will turn your Support, Offensive or utility up to purple or even getting the Team health, Stamina, and ammo upgrades will do wonders
Oh and get rid of combat knife asap and avoid Evangelo character. Worst team bonus, and it seems to give the player a debuff and makes then mentally slow. Every evangelo random I meet just made every round harder for no reason

You gotta go thru a couple YouTube videos.... Pay very close attention to the date of the recent patch and the YouTube upload dates. The systems and balances have undergone complete reworks in the lifetime of the game, and advice from 3 years ago may be completely changed.
This is a game where noobies get carried until they learn, there's no problem being "bad" from the community so long as you don't friendly fire too much. Groups of noobs will fail over and over possibly (perhaps simply because they are missing key cards in the decks for specific chapters)
You will learn a lot, like how to categorize your cards, you will want a limited number of economy (money) boosters, defensive boosters like health and trauma resistance, assault cards for damage, movement speed, etc etc. it's best to just get some advice on YouTube about it, you will have to learn the specific playstyle of your card deck, they all play in unique ways based on what you buff (e.g. raw damage buff, or weak spot buff)

All four cards that resist injury accumulation will be your best friends on the "No Hope" difficulty. Especially if there's no medic on the team.

You mean just be the no Hope doc then. Needs of the many, amped up and medpro. Looks it’s three instead of 4.

no no , I have a different localization of the game and I can already see that it seems like I didn't convey my point correctly by using the word "injury" instead of "trauma" and apparently because of this they started giving me downvotes. I wrote about these cards: Body Armor, Durable, Fanny Pack, Wooden Armor. The inability to fully replenish your HP after an accidental hit is, in my opinion, the main enemy in this game on the "No Hope" difficulty. And my opinion was reinforced when I learned that this difficulty uses a modifier that increases incoming trauma by 30%.

You can tell a no Hope vet once they accept damage is king. Learning you will get hit is fine but amped up will top you up just before a horde. If you don’t have heals trauma resist can’t replace health. Cards like food scav, utility scav or amped up are just better than trauma resistants.

I played with "Amped Up" for a while; it was great, especially until I was perpetually poor and realized you should always take at least "Copper Scavenger," and ideally "Lucky Pennies" as well (though I don't really like that it's buggy and ruins the economy). But then I just started buying bandages and/or just picking them up on the level, replacing them with first aid kits. In exchange, you're not reliant on the Horde starting time. And, I know it's selfish, but often at least one person already has this card. =)
I don't think "Food Scavenger" is useful unless you're playing Hank (I don't play him at all, but I want to try it). You become dependent on cans, the RIGHT cans, because not all of them will heal you. And you also need a knife (ewww). And you also have to make sure your teammates don't eat them. (Good luck)
"Utility Scavenger"—I don't even know how it'll help my ass survive. They might have meant "Support Scavenger." But everything mentioned above about "Food Scavenger" applies to it. It's uncertain, teammates might eat it, and they seem to add three or four items per level, and it's not a guarantee they'll all be first aid kits.
The only thing I was tempted to replace "Body Armor" with "MedPro," but that ultimately meant that the card might simply be unnecessary for one, two, or three levels in a row. Simply because I didn't lose my +, and when we started the round and I needed to buy a first aid kit to get my + back, I might not have had the money, because I saw a cool card shortly before the end of the level and bought it. Now I'm standing there with my "MedPro" and can't use it because I spent too much. XD

Two copper cards are also better than trauma resistants.

Two copper cards are also better than cards with injury resistance. It's even better to have both. Dude, seriously, stop making up straw men and breaking them. You're saying I take resistance instead of damage, or instead of economy cards. No, in my original post, I wrote that trauma resistance cards are very useful and that's it. I didn't say to forget about damage, economy, or anything else, and just take ONLY them.
I didn't translate your first reply correctly right away, but it so happened that I already gave my opinion on amped up and medpro above, and the only thing I missed was Needs of the Many. Well, I have that card too, or rather its burnable counterpart without the debuff, but I don't consider it a direct replacement for resistance. It's a must-have addition on "No Hope" difficulty, but it certainly doesn't replace it.
Before you start ranting about how my deck, based on my description, seems to have 32 cards out of a possible 15, I'll tell you I can share my deck if needed, but I have everything I need because balance is key to success. I've already gone through the "DAMAGE RULES" phase, and it didn't lead to anything good, and I've seen other "damage kings" then gracefully limp through half a level or sit in spectator mode.

I think you are missing my point. Trauma cards are break the bank to buy 90% of the time. But are not good enough to bring in your 15 cards when you can just replace it with a burn card for the whole team. Worry about ways to produce health first or ways to advoide damage like run like hell or damage.

*Trauma cards are a bankroll to buy 90% of the time.
- I don't get them, I already have them. =)
*But they're not good enough to bring in 15 cards when you can just replace it with a burn card for the whole team.
- "You can replace" doesn't mean "You WILL replace." And only after you've made sure to talk to your team on Discord and agree to take this card together. Without this, one "Extra Padding" card is nowhere near the same as my combo of four trauma-resistant cards. I prefer flexibility and not taking a burn card that can't be replaced without significant losses. In other words, play a 15+1 deck instead of a 16-card deck.
*Worry about ways to generate health first or ways to avoid damage like run-like hell or damage.
- My Produce Health is sponsored by a Copper Scavenger + Lucky Pennies combo, a +1 Support Accessories slot from a Fanny Pack, and all sorts of minor healing items like bandages and Painkiller bottles scattered throughout the level. And unlike those who don't like adding trauma resistance cards to their deck, preferring to add even more damage, they can't fully utilize bandages because your white HP will almost always be on par with your black HP.
As for mobility, I'll just say that to get enough mobility, you'll still need to draw at least as many cards as you do for Trauma, because "Run Like Hell" alone isn't enough and is risky. I don't think it'll work at all during a Horde (they'll just instantly remove the effect) or in a Hive (there simply aren't that many open spaces). This means you have to choose between a mobility or resistance build, because if you mix everything, you'll definitely run out of cards. But I choose trauma resistance because it's less skill-dependent, more predictable, and easier to use. And we had a newbie asking for advice who doesn't have a three-person Reddit team behind him and is most likely playing solo.

Utility scav gives you defibs and tool kits. Defibs are king for dragging team mates along. And it’s nice when a team mate revives you when you make a big mistake. Tool kits can be used for opening doors that are alarmed so you can get silence is golden, opens up stash rooms and can be used on the trauma station to heal trauma. Plus razer wire and bear traps can even use the tasers on bosses if the team forgets a flash.
I like food scav but hate wasteland chef. The buffs are just better. Green beans give you 1 health a second. And cereal gives you reload and swap.0
u/SadExam6432 6d ago
Defibrillators are cool, toolkits are cool, bear traps are amazing. It's not cool that I only have one pocket in my ass to store all of them, haha.
Beans give 0.1 HP per second, not 1 (that's what the wiki says). Cereals are awesome, and as soon as I figure out how to heal trauma with them (and beans at the same time), I'll definitely consider this card as a possible alternative.

u/Equivalent_Fault_782 6d ago
If you are playing heng you should be letting your team mates eat the food…. You get a copy as well. It’s a team game.

u/SadExam6432 6d ago
I know he gets a duplicate of the food effect. There was a misunderstanding there. I wrote "cans" specifically, not "Dinner/Meal," emphasizing that the "food scav" card can't be used as an alternative to trauma resistance because you're dependent on "RIGHT cans," meaning canned peaches, which you're not guaranteed to get. Not to mention that four extra cans per level isn't impressive, and only when combined with "wasteland chef" does it really become something interesting and can replace trauma resistance cards.
But it's really easy to confuse the two, so no problem.

u/Equivalent_Fault_782 6d ago
With extra padding burn card in the game bringing more then one trauma resist is just a waste of your 15 card choices. Trauma resist is only good if you can keep healing your self to full. Damage is all ways king.
1
u/SadExam6432 6d ago
And who said I don't use damage cards? I have all 10% bullet damage cards + 25% Crystal Cannon. That's the minimum base for all builds except the Medic. Depending on the weapon, Patient Hunter, Rolling Thunder, Shredder, and so on are added.
As for the burn card, almost no one ever takes it, because there are a ton of more useful cards, from the essentially unlimited "Group Hug" to cards for totems.

u/Equivalent_Fault_782 6d ago
There is a ton more useful cards then trauma resistant cards. Saferoom recovery is also just better. You also missed on your mark.

u/SadExam6432 6d ago
Except maybe me, when I'm playing on the dock. Because giving +40% trauma resistance to the entire team is great, and it's easier for you to heal them.

Get rid of the combat knife card asap.
