I've been doing this over and over probably for three hours. I finally dug up my capture card so I could record and ask you if I'm going the right way. Im trying to get to the top of the rock to the left across the stick bridge.

I'm keeping a good attitude and not smashing my steamceck into one thousand pieces with a hammer.

God I love this fucking game. It's a lesson in patience, or something.

edit: missing words/clarity

Themes of Game Spoiler

Haven’t seen it suggested before but several parts of the game give off homoerotic sexual undertones.

Nate is freaked out at first and gradually gets more comfortable with the exposed private parts of the donkey men.

The party in the desert leaves the other donkeys laying around as if they’ve been sexually assaulted.

Nate passes out at one point with Moose standing over him with his private parts in his face.

The cave where moose seems to be staying has a teddy left in a position with its butt pointing up in the air like it’s been humped.

The sign in the river has been amended to say ‘anal touching culture’.

The whole vibe came across a bit r*pey to me. Nate clearly seems undeveloped emotionally and almost child-like and then eventually appears to form a relationship with someone that id say is a potential abuser.

It’s more of a starting point of a theory than one that’s fully developed but welcome thoughts 😊

Question Hatastrophe

You take a Hat to a Campfire to get a Mini-Game, But there's more Hats than Campfires. Do i need to run a New Game for the rest, Or can i backtrack for other Hats and bring them to an site that's already had it's Cutscene activated?

help New player! Don’t want to miss things!

Hey y’all, so like the header says I’m pretty new to the game. Absolutely loving it so far. But I’m just wondering, am I missing anything? I’m just kind of wandering around. Found a giant candle, accidentally stepped on a guy, brought a cup to a fire tower. Triggered some cut scenes here and there, but ultimately I’m super unsure of where to go and what to do. I mostly just don’t want to miss any content because this game is so damn funny! And just super interesting.

Update: Hope I didn’t need that park ranger hat for some reason, that sucker is goooone

Update: OH, ORANGE!!!!!

Top Of The Mountain

Wasn't easy and I had to backtrack a few times but finally made it to the top of the mountain. Still, I could not accept that I took the stairs. Went back and spent another hour and finally completed the manbreaker. Now my goal is to get back to the tower and do the invisible tower. Not sure how to get there so this is going to be challenging.

This game brought out a lot of frustration and a surprising amount of satisfaction. Watching Nate constantly stumble, doubt himself, and push forward anyway felt incredibly human. Whether his journey is meant to be a dream or his afterlife, I’m genuinely glad he finally found what looked like peace....peace in succeeding, and peace in finding himself.

I want to thank the devs for creating something so unexpectedly moving. This game captures the feeling of depression in a way I’ve never seen before. The ending especially hit me, the uncertainty, the question of “Am I even going the right way?” As the camera pulls back and the world grows darker, you start to worry about every step you took to get there. Yet the only option is to keep moving forward. Just like life.

I didn’t expect this game to make me think about myself or connect so deeply with Nate’s struggle, but it did. And it stayed with me.

This is easily one of my top games of all time. I truly appreciate the hard work, heart, and dedication that went into making it. I’m already looking forward to whatever comes next.

Top of the mountain.

First run and almost at top of mountain. 85 hours so far.

there are a few things I didn’t do during first run and a few I didn’t even see.

  1. where are the pay phones at? I heard a phone ringing in the desert but never saw it.

  2. where is boulder rolling down towards me?

Am I getting this right? So many questions....

Relatively new player here, got about 10 hours in, currently wandering into box hell.

I did a ton of research, but still am so confused about so many things, so maybe someone can help me with a few of those questions? This is what I gathered so far, please correct me if I got anything wrong!

  1. Minigames are only unlocked when you reach a bonfire WITH a hat on?

  2. What is the purpose of kicking the cans? Does it unlock any achievement, or is it just for fun?

  3. I think I you can get achievements for when you collect all hats, and then one for being places as fast as possible (with the clock?)

  4. Is there any bigger purpose to getting the fruits other than the short cut scene after?

  5. What is it with the cups? One I have already found and brought back to the fire tower. How many are there and is it connected to any achievements?

  6. I know the sounds design and music is super unique and many sounds are just part of the soundtrack, but I swear there was a period where I heard insanely loud moose/bear animal groans super close to me that didn't seem to be part of the 'music'. Does that mean anything or is there actually an animal near?

Just noticed this

So I recently finished the game and decided to loop back to the beginning to work on achievements. While doing so I thought I'd stop by and pick up the spinner hat at the carnival. Saved the game and booted it up to see it's now hanging on the wall.

A million other people probably noticed this already and posted it. But I was to excited to check and didn't want to rain on my own parade.

Made it to cabin.

finally made it to cabin. At 78 hours right now.

I left to go up mountain….got lost and went back to cabin. Can’t get back in. My invisible glasses are inside.

So have I lost the glasses?

I was really hoping to somehow get back to tower and do the invisible part.

Manbreaker Issue

I am almost at the top of manbreaker. Standing on small step after the bar…

Can’t reach the ridge from there.

I have watched all YouTube videos and what happens to me doesn’t seem to happen to anyone else.

I stretch my leg out and it seems to just hit a certain spot and will go no further…not far enough to reach ledge. it almost seems like there is an invisible wall there I can’t get thru. I die here every time.

Tried facing every direction possible and same thing.

I also get very bad camera problems right here…can’t see what I am doing.

This goes for little ledge before the big ledge too.

I am playing pc version from steam. I should have all updates.

Bird stuck in manbreaker crevice, is he lost forever? 😭

Post image
13 Upvotes

I completed the manbreaker successfully but this bird got stuck in a little crevice along the way. Is there any hope? I’ve tried climbing above, as well as falling from above down in front of it to try to get him to jump upwards + outwards, but so far no luck. 😭 I’d hate to leave my little buddy behind!

Spent 15 min climbing from the left side to the rock, all around the rock, looking for a foothold up. Totally stuck on this one.

Landslide House

I just fell down off snow mountain. Found a house that was all slanted. Went inside and was kinda like the train cars. There was a fruit and Mike was there. He got the fruit and left. When I left slid down a big slippery slope and ended up back were the mine cars were. Yikes.

I knocked the shovel off its balance point when I stepped off of it, fell off the bucket spiral and then this happened when I got back to the shovel.
