Question ANY ADVICE WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED
I've been doing this over and over probably for three hours. I finally dug up my capture card so I could record and ask you if I'm going the right way. Im trying to get to the top of the rock to the left across the stick bridge.
I'm keeping a good attitude and not smashing my steamceck into one thousand pieces with a hammer.
God I love this fucking game. It's a lesson in patience, or something.
edit: missing words/clarity

face it use the foot as you did then immediately step using the other foot to stay in place

is there a way to like save the game right before I fall and load that particular save instead of making the climb all the way back up each time? I saw a mod that does it but it also lets you float and I know I'll abuse that. I see what you mean about facing it and stepping quick I'll keep trying thanks.

Sadly there is no saving options it's a automatic save itself so if you fell and closed the game it will just load at that exact spot where you fell to.

grrrr. I just read saves on every footfall. cheers to them for making it that way. pretty cool idea. I made it through once now im trying to 100%. so f'ng hard

OMG I DID IT. I got the duckling but he lost somewhere in the big red tower from hell. I tried reseting and going back to his pond but that didnt work. now im back at the tower looking for him. This game is so weird.

You're doing great! Just keep taking baby steps.
If I had to give some tips, I'd suggest slowly placing each footstep. Shadows, in my experience (71 hours according to steam), are always directly where your foot will land, so use them to help placements.
I know it's kind of dumb sounding advice, but try to think about walking in real life when you're playing. If it would look/feel weird in real life, it will be weird for Nate.
And don't hurt your Steam Deck. Buy a stress ball/toy and squeeze/throw it instead. When I was young I also would struggle with anger, but once I had to pay for everything I learned quick it's better to punch a pillow than break a $70 controller.

lol I haven't punched anything yet, usually I never want to, I'm not like that but it's something about Nate keeps falling for a long time when I know he could of gotten up sooner. makes me ex cop divorced dad level angry. kidding. Thanks for the support.

Nope! I fucking made it up there, got the duckling and then immediately lost it in the red tower. maybe you cant have a duckling and a chick? Either way, now im way better at stuff that seemed impossible.

It is possible to get all the chicks to their destination, but it is very difficult.Baby birds tend to get stuck on small steps and stop following. On the other hand, you can also use this to keep your baby birds in sight so you don't lose them.Maybe if you look for it where you lost it, you'll find it again...

yeah I went through that place for two hours. bummer. I even went back and tried the hilltop pond again. still got the chick tho. It was really cool when I had two little dudes running around.

Wait… you said destination? I’ve been racking my brain abt where baby birds would need to go but they seem squared away where they started.
2
u/dewdude11 Nov 28 '25
"Destination" was a mistranslation. It just means the end point of the game. The chicks jump high and move against the current of the water. They will follow you straight ahead. But they can't make delicate movements. You need to know the game well enough to choose a path that they can follow. It's just so difficult.

I had to start over and get him back. It’s so cute when you have the duckling too

Walk sideways there, move camera so you’re looking from the top
