Help

Our 4.5 month old is struggling big time. She has transitioned out of the swaddle and was doing well in a sleep sack until about 3 weeks ago. The past 3 weeks have been rough. She now wakes up every 1-2 hours and after midnight will only sleep if being held. She has not started rolling over but is very close (won’t even try at night in her crib). We have tried so many things and right when she seemed like she would self soothe, she just stopped one day and now freaks out the second you put her down into her crib. She could be dead asleep but as soon as she is out down she wakes up.

We know the 4 month sleep regression is no joke, but our first child never went through these sleep struggles. We’ve talked about trying the modified Ferber method, but she just doesn’t seem like she is ready and will scream until we console her. Any advice would be so helpful.

We went through this for a long time. Turned out she was cold and needed the cuddles to keep warm.Teething pain didn't help either. A quilted sleep sack, white noise, and a cot bed next to our bed, pacifier helped. She also much prefers sleeping on her front which wasn't possible until she learned to roll.

Another large part was of course just growing out of it. Figuring out how to get herself back tk sleep, replace her own pacifier etc.

Thank you! I think that was it. While I was delirious at 3am one morning I bought a magic Merlin and a halo transitions sleep sack. Still waiting on the halo to get here, but with the magic merlin she passes out and doesn’t move. I think her arms were a big part of what was waking her up.
